Sorry, wrong thread!

Menstrual products, period products, tampons and pads, female menstrual products or similar are all fine. I've always hated feminine hygiene products because 'feminine' and 'hygiene' make my teeth itch.

CruCru · 29/06/2022 09:42

I must admit that I hate “feminine hygiene” because it sound twee and euphemistic. My genitals don’t need special “hygiene” (apart from normal washing) because they aren’t dirty or weird.

Period or menstrual products are okay. More women will know what period means than menstrual.

Perhaps supermarkets need to just go the whole hog and scrawl here be monsters on the aisles?

It reminds me of those weird paper bags with a lady on that you get in some hotels.

I've made a conscious effort to stop using the word sanitary for same reasons mentioned above with hygiene.

The ones with the sort of eighteenth-century hairstyle? Phenomenally inappropriate considering period products hadn't been invented back then. Honest. Women didn't even wear knickers. Apparently they used to pin rags to their dresses and hope for the best. God knows how that worked in the Empire Line era when everyone was supposed to float around in a nightie all the time.

CruCru · 29/06/2022 12:55

Perhaps women having a heavy period stayed at home.

Women's Health, Female Health, Period Products etc are all fine.

I can see why "feminine" might give some people the itch, but the word female is an accurate biological descriptor, and I don't give a flying feck how you identify.
This website is quite interesting about the history of menstrual products.
