I agree with everything he said. As a trainee psychotherapist I am very familiar with the TRA trope. This has been enhanced by the fact that one of our main trainers is trans and is extremely vocal about it. It makes me feel really uncomfortable with some of their views I've seen on social media platforms.

He has posted a video of himself reading the article on his YouTube channel, where he has more than 5 million subscribers.

The comments give me hope

Well he's not wrong. But we have been saying the exact same thing for at least seven years.

I don't watch much of his stuff, but doesn't he subscribe to the notion that women have certain character traits, which are innate and so do men. A bit pink brain/blue brain. or am I thinking of someone else?

From what I remember, his initial foray into the issue was based on objections to compelled speech (pronouns). Nothing to do with children or the ideology itself.

Still, I know he's popular, especially among young men, so I guess it's good that he's at least talking about it.

That certainly takes no prisoners. It's pretty good to see someone who doesn't waffle around with the "of course some people need gender-affirming care" and "surgery is the right choice for some" etc. It's absolutely uncompromising.

It's a shame he talks about "Marxist ideologues" because I imagine Marx is turning in his grave at all this nonsense.

yep, that’s Jordan Peterson. He’s interesting, but no friend to women.

All this gender woo comes down to the basic fact that there are men, women and personalities. The whole trans ideology is regressive - shoving people back into the boxes that history/culture designated as suitable for their sex - yes, their sex.

As a kid I had what was deemed a typical 'male' personality with typical 'male' interests (I still have) but no one suggested I was really a boy: nor did I. Their were the odd comments that I could be a lesbian - that was the other trope used decades ago to shove people into gender boxes. But, decades later here I am - widowed now but married for over 50 years, straight, a mum and grandmum - still with typical 'male' interests and career path.

I dread to think the path I might have been steered down if I were a kid these days. Poor 'gender' atypical children today. I fear desperately for their future.

The sooner we consign that useless word 'gender', which no two people seem to be able to define, to history the better. Back to men, women, boys, girls and personalities.

There, not their. Bloody autocorrect.

Is there an archived copy of the article? I file JP similarly but would be interested to read it.
