Hard-hitting thread replying to a trans identifying female YouTuber.

For those not on Twitter here's the thread. I didn't know you could only post 3 images at a time.

Collated all. Hopefully digestible

I wonder how much flack Aaron will receive compared to a woman being far less truthful than he is.

This is his first rap - catchy and one of my #bekind teenagers had the tune in his head for a while, annoyingly for him

It's an excellent thread. He's incredibly articulate in conveying strong doses of realism, and yes his first song is awesome!

Oblomov22 · 13/06/2022 06:57

I like it. He speaks sense.

Louise0701 · 13/06/2022 07:05

Brilliant tweets from a very intelligent and articulate man.

Fjea · 13/06/2022 07:16

That was kinda painful to read. The person it was aimed at claimed they hadn’t read past the first tweet, I wonder if that’s true…

IstayedForTheFeminism · 13/06/2022 07:20

Hes a little bit brilliant

That no longer surprises me. They would consider the truths written as being hate.

This is such a tumultuous time, if anything, I hope it shows the failure that is affirming only. Because it solely relies on other people’s reactions. And if they don’t sugar coat everything, it is written off as hate and phobia.

It also shows that the forced redefinition of the words man and woman is not working. And it was always doomed to fail.

The population is not going to accept this pomo experiment of redefining those words or the way female and male have been forced open. When there is no rock solid foundation, and these changes are constantly needing artificial support, material reality will always win.

Reading that twitter thread is like reading a thread on MN such as the thread on will a male always be a male.

Fjea · 13/06/2022 08:16

I’m not surprised she claims to have not read past the first tweet, but surely she will have?

FOJN · 13/06/2022 08:28

The thread is in a response to a reaction video posted by the youtuber posted on 9th June. The video is the usual substance free challenge to the rap, they don't bother to react to the whole song. The comments under the video are interesting, lots of c** women claiming they'd be happy to donate their reproductive organs to a transwoman.

I wonder if the youtuber will respond to the thread?

Helleofabore · 13/06/2022 08:31

Fjea

Maybe. Maybe not.

If not, she will read a ‘safe’ rebuttal of it so she doesn’t have to read it. Maybe she will simply write it off.

That is the usual approach.

I actually had a conversation with my teen this weekend about university and how I know a lecturer who fears for her job despite being a well published researcher etc, because in the past three years she has seen the complaints against other lecturers and so she is extremely careful in what she discussed in her lectures. My teen thought this was appropriate so emotionally fragile teens at university would be ‘safe’.

Live4weekend · 13/06/2022 08:49

I think he forgets one important thing.

A transman can stop being a transman.

I can never stop being a woman just like the tweeter can never stop being a man.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 13/06/2022 08:58

Thanks, OP. I assume that Francis Aaron is on the podcast circuit as he'd make an interesting interviewee. I'm not aware of him so need to go looking.

Courtesy of this thread, I learned about the origins of gender identity in a book published in 1968.

“It is a working term,” Robert Stoller said of his creation in 1968. “We need hardly insist on the holiness of the term “gender identity.”” Half a century later, gender identity had everywhere been pronounced holy, sanctified with legal sponsorship, draped in royal purple.

I notice that some of the responses to Aaron accuse him of confusing sex and gender. This seems to be a common argument by trans activists. Yet it's clearly not true - if being a trans man is simply about gender identity, why would you need to have surgery and hormones to "pass" as male?

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 13/06/2022 09:01

It's all performance. If the TRA didn't want to listen to the answer, don't make a huge deal of asking the question.

IcakethereforeIam · 13/06/2022 09:27

I read some of the comments under each partipant's tweets. Quite a contrast in the quality of the grammar, spelling and articulation.

Aaron Francis's thread seemed pretty brutal, that is to say honest and accurate.

I think many of us would support people being gender non-conforming and broadening the bandwidth of what it means to be a member of their own sex class.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/06/2022 09:35

That's pretty much what being 'gender critical' means.

It's not just trans people. TRAs - as evidenced by the educational background revealed in their words - are amongst the most marginalised in society.

Actually, to be fair, it is fascinating how amongst the trans community / TRAs, we have such a combination of deeply vulnerable people (mental health issues mainly), deeply privileged middle class, educated white people and the minority who seem to be narcissists and fetishiest and abusers or would-be abusers, who are cynically driving much of this.

Hagiography · 13/06/2022 09:45

What a bizarre response.

Sam asked for an answer. Aaron gave a considered, accurate and honest one.

Then got ridiculed for answering?

Is this just cognitive dissonance swerving off into an inappropriate response, because there's nothing - nothing at all - in Aaron's thread that anyone could disagree with?

Helleofabore · 13/06/2022 09:56

I am laughing at the ‘it’s 22 tweets long!’ Comments.

Can these people not read a few thousand characters?

They must be all in secondary school. When my teen was 14 they believed two paragraphs was an essay.

Hagiography · 13/06/2022 10:06

Well, you know, 22 tweets is too much to ask. That's more evidence than is required to get T off the internet!

IdiotCreatures · 13/06/2022 10:08

I read his tweets in under two minutes. People are seriously querying the number of tweets?
Imbeciles.
