looks like I have been suspended from Twatter despite having never tweeted anything. All I have done is like feminist, GC and womens rights posts. What a fucking joke!

would take that as a badge of honour-twitter is a fucking looney bin for nutters and headbangers

Like it or not, the social media giants - especially Twitter - play a huge role in our current society and politics. And because of that, the people who decide who gets silenced on those platforms wield extraordinary power.

And this is how they use that power.

It’s madness. I have literally never tweeted anything. Pretty much everything i have liked has been anti self ID, respect my sex etc so it has to be that. I will submit a complaint but doubt I’ll get a response. I have checked the rules they directed me to and can’t see any I have violated.

I think any account can be banned if it follows the same algorithm as a bot account.
So accounts that only follow and like eg pro-Obama accounts can look like fake accounts so they get banned.

You're supposed to create content and follow a diverse range of subjects.

I got a 12 hour ban for telling Maya Forstater to get outrageously drunk and fall in a gutter after her tribunal ended. Twitter is insane.

If you've never posted anything but just liking posts, you're probably flagged up as spam or a bot so that'll be why.

Hmmm that could be it then. I think the only other people I followed was Tim Burgess and Mary Beard. I don’t really do Twitter apart from when I was directed there by something posted here

You can also do an appeal via the California better business Bureau.

It had been ages since I seen a tweet on what you need to do. But you can try logging out of twitter, open secret mode, then doing a search on twitter itself to try find people who won their case.

Yes unfortunately it doesn't take much to be suspended or banned, especially when the MRAs/TRAs and transactivists vexatiously report people. It's so frustrating that us women have to be careful every single time we tweet. Yet these MRAs and TRAs can hurl all sorts of abuse and name-call and remain.

I'm not on Twitter but I assume you can appeal? Facebook just deemed a photo I posted as hate. I disagreed but they came back and said they've looked again and uphold their initial assessment. I've been warned if I do it again my account will go. They put in some snide comment like we all make mistakes....
So what did I post? This image totally factual I would say. So facts can be hate.
Does anyone know who I write to get someone higher up to explain why it is hate. I assume it offended someone. Feel free to download and share!

I think you must have been flagged up as a bot/fake account. If you don't post anything at all that's an easy thing to happen. I am not quite sure either as to why you are upset to lose this account if you are not really having a conversation with others/posting your own content. it is called social media for a reason...

Oh that's interesting. I have a totally protected account under my real name & follow about 400 people but zero followers. I've never tweeted or retweeted but like lots of stuff, including lots of GC stuff. I don't tweet because basically I'm shy and private. But I do enjoy reading. I don't have any other social media so would be a bit sad to get banned as a bot.

If you join, never post and follow known heretics, then yes they do get you. You have to join, follow vanilla people, post a few cat memes and then slowly work your way to JKR.

If the sale is actually going through the motions one of the demands of EM was an analysis of human accounts and human interactions against computer generated noise. The company will have to come up with a number because that in theory what drives the public value of the company.
The code is worth X the human accounts worth Y.
The computer accounts would be a liability as they generate content which is published but would likely fall outside the US protections which prevent the government regulation of individuals free speech. That is a hot topic in most first world countries as the governments want to regulate the Internet as a whole.

Not saying that the code controllers are not taking advantage of that to target groups and individuals, but even a genuine cat liking human could be booted off as a bot.

They probably saw that as 'threatening" 🙄
