1./ Some great news. The sting operation against Dr Az Hakeem has failed. Last month, a ridiculous story appeared accusing Az of "trans conversion". The GMC has now confirmed the complaint is not being investigated.

2./ The GMC also say the complaint will have no impact on Az's fitness to practise record. The drivel was an
attempt to suggest "trans conversion therapy" exists in the UK. Isn't it remarkable they want to legislate on something they can't find evidence is actually going on? 🤪

3./ The hit job appears to have been cobbled together with the delightful Michelle Snow from 'What the Trans' who advertised looking for patients or ex-patients of therapists like Dr Hakeem for what they thought might be any dirt. The timing was no coincidence. t.co/yLnqU3dre8

4./ The trans lobby is desparate cos every piece of "scientific evidence" they've provided so far in favour of a trans conversion therapy ban has been patently woeful. It's about as reliable as research done in favour of chocolate by chocolate companies. 👇t.co/lrjf6eHafL

6./ Michelle Snow was profiled in Them magazine recently as a bold fighter of the supposedly transphobic UK media. Yep, it's so bigoted papers conspire with...err...Michelle...to run hit jobs against therapists. If I was Michelle I'd complain about that photo they ran by the way. t.co/bhCns94z9S

7./ The big question is what will the CEO of Stonewall now do? The GMC has confirmed no action will be taken. Yet Kelley effectively defamed Az in her retweet. I do hope another legal action isn't brewing against the charity that just can't stop bullying lesbians and gay men? t.co/gXPbFxP78k

That was a difficult read for many reasons.

I can only imagine there will be more like this as more questioning youth seek help but see any push back against their assumptions as conversion therapy, supported by Pink News, Stonewall et Al.

Glad the complaint has been dropped.

Yet another transactivists’ attempt to destroy an honest person’s career and livelihood. I’m glad this one has failed.

Oh I'm so pleased about this. That article was an absolute shit show and trawling about looking for 'stories' to discredit professionals doing their job is disgusting.

I'm relieved for Dr Az Hakeem and I note that the chilling effect of this will continue to ripple out until clinicians are confident that this won't happen to them. I'd also suggest that the concerns will be strongest amongst clinicians who are not white because they are disproportionately the subject of complaints. Eg, the ludicrous progression of the case against Dr Manjula Arora.
