Gender listings on the TfL consultation survey

Can I whinge about this? I have just filled in the TfL survey on the consultation to changes to London buses and was asked to give my gender.

I can see that it’s in alphabetical order but the order is really peculiar. Women make up just over half the population but are down as the sixth choice, just before “I use a different term” and “Prefer not to say”.

Perhaps whoever pulled this together didn’t really think about it.

Man and Woman are sex classes not genders?

Sex - Male or Female

Then if they want to ask about your religious beliefs or fashin sense or what kind of music you like they can ask that separately.

Options - Male, female, trans, interssex, non-binary (maybe one or two others)

To me its simple
If you are born with a willie you are a man
if not you are a female
If I tell people I identify as an Apache attack helicopter or a fridge it does not mean I am one of those things
I am what I was born as

I think what’s annoyed me is the psychological implication that women go last, even though the majority of the population is female.

Well that will be seen as massively transphobic for daring to suggest that man/trans man and woman/trans woman are different categories. A sad case of well-meant wokery but no Stonewall banana for Tfl. Oh dear.

That's outrageous even if it is alphabetical. It's almost encouraging people to state one of the earlier options. How many of their passengers are women?

Clearly the creator of that form has been 'stonewalled' and so has the person who signed it off.

Problem is, it isn’t really alphabetical. If it were “I use a different term” would be first and “Prefer not to say” would come after Non binary.

Actually “I use a different term” would come second.

I just clicked "different term" and said I didn't believe in gender ideology, and I was a biological female.

Sorry @CruCru I was referring to a few other threads with similar topics. So many arrive to downplay and ridicule.

I used other to ask what operational use they have for that data, as per GDPR Regs.

I'd say there's some (un)conscious bias at play there.

Reminds me I'm going to a conference soon, first one in ages..and hope to goodness they don't ask for pronouns.
