She's being told that she needs to set boundaries when it shouldn't be her place to have to set boundaries with her parent and she just needs to stay away from "her"

Poor girl, she sounds so uncomfortable trying to juggle her feelings with her dad’s expectations. I think of my own daughter, nearly 13, and I just couldn’t imagine placing her in that position, validating my womanhood rather than me supporting her fully as she learns about her own. It just seems so wrong.
