Spades out for Sarah

I just noticed that there’s one day left on Sarah’s crowdfunded for her challenge to get single-sex rape crisis support for females. It’s only at two-thirds.

Does anyone fancy gardening?

I’m not on twitter, but I guess some tweeting might help.

Done. Thanks for the reminder.

Support Twixes will only go so far. Support £££s, on the other hand, ...

No need to panic I think. The current 75k target is her second stretch target, in case she gets hit with paying additional costs at the end of the case. She hit the 50k target for her own lawyers fees yesterday.

Good news @GAHgamel , I hadn't known that detail. But donated anyway. It's a really important case

Yes, Sarah's doing really really well!

More root vegetables are always good for a balanced diet, though. You just can't eat too many carrots, really. And they store well, and can be shared out if needed.

Sarah's case is on BBC news online: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61958346

Just saw the BBC article and came to see what the discussion was here. I wasn’t aware of Sarah beforehand. Really interested to see how this plays out.

Just looked on Survivors network policies re equalities- they quote the equalities act and have gender not sex in the protected characteristics list.

and there you have it - you can’t and won’t protect what you don’t define

Well put.

I just saw the article too and was pleased it was getting attention in the mainstream press. I was disappointed though that it didn't state clearly than they also provided services via a men's group and a trans group, as well as the women's group and that the man had access to all three. The article said that the charity said they refer men to another neighbouring service for help.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 28/06/2022 06:47

The "related topics" on that BBC article are Sexual Violence, LGBT and Transgender People. Not women or women's rights.

BethnalGreenBambinos · 28/06/2022 07:22

Thanks for the reminder. All the best to Sarah.

Great interview - how anyone could argue against her is beyond me
