This is infuriating, but I’m quite pleased by the way the DM is reporting it - they talk about feminist groups rather than anything insulting and call JKR a leading feminist voice on Twitter, rather than a transphobe. Acknowledging that JKR is standing up for women is great. She has been ‘branded as transphobic by trans activists for her gender-critical views’ - I feel like last year they would have been saying she’s been denounced for her transphobic views.

This is awful for Angela and I really hope it doesn’t stand, but I do feel the language and assumptions around this issue are shifting.

That is a very good article from the DM, especially liked the inclusion of the screenshots of the threats really lets the sunlight stream in. Also noted the change in descriptions of JKR and GC views, the narrative is definitely shifting.

Every time Angela is targeted it publicises her business and I hope she makes lots of money... I only found out about her from the last time the daily mail reported (sympathetically) on how she'd been send death threats etc along with pics of her lovely products which I then promptly bought. I want the cis my arse t-shirt now.

So the TRAs are helping her business big time. Not that that detracts from how despicable they are of course.

Isn't it a bit of a self-own for the TRAs? Angela doesn't mention tw in the tweet just men. I mean, it's almost like the TRAs are actually acknowledging that tw are really....surely they're being transphobic?

Good point. I think they have lost the ability to think critically or use reasoned debate some time ago as a result of their 'shut the fuck up you bigot' policy everyone anything says anything remotely against the ideology.

I love Angela’s stuff and I’m angry that she is being targeted again. However, I’m doing what I do every time they go after a woman - buying something hers to support her. I’m now a few pounds lighter but it’s money well-spent.

I have the calendar which I've had to remove from its original position on my bedroom wall as ot was visible on work teams calls. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to put it back.
