The post is the writing under the image. It clearly says 'women' as does the statement from Barack.
The graphic Michelle shared used womxn but she obviously didn't create the graphic. The organisation that created the graphic is tagged.

I always assumed it was more about the symbolism, a bit of a provocation - a reminder of how easy and dangerous it is to assume male = default, and to flag that this (group, place, conversation, paradigm) is a consciously feminist one.

(I think the same of "herstory", which I know also sometimes upsets linguists!)

Really don’t want to lose another hero, I really like her. Hope that she meant women (or wimmin!)

I thought folx and womxn was by the TWAW brigade and womyn was used by feminists to avoid being 'of man'?
