Has the notoriously camera and publicity shy Mayor Burnham said anything yet about the disgraceful scenes in Manchester yet? Specifically how the Babylon stood around doing fuck all whilst a women was manhandled by Bloko Harem? Is he full on TWAW?

I've been wondering this too. Do you think it's OK Andy? You seem to have the right idea when it suits.

"Mr Burnham said there had been "heartfelt calls" from women and girls for major change over everyday "abuse, intimidation and violence" and it was not they who should be forced to change their behaviours to feel safe.

It is men and boys who need to take responsibility for this issue, either by reflecting on and changing our own behaviours or challenging those of people we know," he said.

"If your behaviour is making women feel uncomfortable or unsafe, our message is simple: it's not OK."

Greater Manchester Combined Authority has a much-touted gender based violence strategy - perhaps the strategy is to encourage rather than reduce it.

I think someone from the council has had an email exchange about alleged harassment of a trans protester by either the event organisers or a gender critical person? This is the reverse, of course. Masked people in all black outfits are not a worry at all.

Not a word - the leader of the city council (cant remember her name) and Pat Karney have been sympathising with that bellend who said the nasty women were rude to his wife. Not a word to any of the countless women who've pulled them up over the way women were treated by the BlackPampers. And next time someone asks why I wont vote Labour THIS is why.

The Manchester Evening News is very captured so I doubt he'll be getting any truth from that organ. Labour need to realise this is like their anti-semitism problem. They would not tell a left-wing Jewish voter to simply set that issue aside and vote for all their other policies. As a woman I cannot set aside their support and silence around the most misogynistic, homophobic cult to have emerged in the West in my lifetime when I am voting.

There was also the WPUK event recently too of course. Did he ignore that being repeatedly flagged up to him as well?

Just thought I'd put this here rather than start another thread:

www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/andy-burham-warns-organisations-supporting-23977601

It's a link to an article on the Manchester Evening News website. At least on my tablet, it is a bad broken site, overloaded with ads., so be warned.

I was looking, this morning, in the faint hope that the MEN (!) would have finally reported the rally and the pampers. I mean, it's in the Times!. They haven't but I found this article. Burnham is threatening organisations that offer conversion therapy in Manchester with loss of funding, he seems to go beyond the law passed (proposed?) recently in Parliament. It's the subheading that gets me, which seems to be quoting Burnham directly.
