I just saw this on LinkedIn by the pretty awesome barrister Naomi Cunningham. Maybe this has been posted already, apologies if so.

A brilliant article. I agree with every word. I would like to imagine that in the situations she describes I would challenge a trans woman (MTF) but in reality I think I would be afraid.

It's interesting, but hasn't the debate moved away from passing?

We now have men, who still dress and behave like men, yet want to be called "women" and everyone has to accept it. Everyone knows what's going on, but everyone is afraid to say that the emperor has no clothes on.

Also the single-sex toilets are slowly morphing into unisex, where men (who call themselves men) and women are forced to share the same facilities. I haven't spoken to a man or woman who likes them.

Thank you for the link, great article. She's written other good pieces, so thank you for leading me to those as well.

The singer/ singing teacher analogy works so well. Sadly many tone deaf singers think they are in line for careers at the Royal Opera House when they are barely able to follow the lyrics at a karaoke bar, doesn’t stop them though, oh to have the confidence that comes with entitlement.

Excellent, accurate piece. Thanks for sharing.

Great article- the reasoning is spot on, thanks for sharing OP. Interestingly BT Parental Controls blocked it for me. I've written to them asking why and suggesting they reclassify it.
