Here's the intro:

Ayoung woman with aquamarine hair is striding around with a megaphone leading a call and response, as a policewoman watches from a distance on a Bristol street.
“Trans rights are human rights!”
The motley crowd of students answer as one: “Trans rights are human rights!”
“Protect trans students!”

“Protect trans students!” they parrot.
Then she gets a little over-aerated: “Terfs can suck my boy d---.”

Nobody says a word, they just shuffle uncomfortably.
Terfs, in case you don’t know, are “trans-exclusionary radical feminists”. This loosely translates as “any woman who doesn’t want some bloke claiming to be a lady joining her in the changing rooms in Monsoon, or a boy saying he’s a girl sharing a tent and, quite possibly, a shower with their daughter at a summer camp started by former PM David Cameron.”
In effect, Terfs are those who disagree with the militant orthodoxy that anyone “identifying” as a woman must have full access to single-sex spaces – be they public loos, rape crisis refuges, female prisons or women’s sport.
Sensing she might be losing her crowd, Aquamarine then reels her angry acolytes back with a more familiar incantation: “Trans women are women!”
A woman in a Harris tweed coat passing by catches my eye, pauses and observes with perfect timing: “But they’re not, are they?”

“Terfs can suck my boy d---.”

Dick? Suck her boy dick? But, but, but… never mind.

Always baffled at the total lack of common sense in shouts of this.

I really wouldn't advise putting any body part in the mouth of a fed up female. Not unless you're prepared for it to no longer be attached to your body about three seconds later. Teeth. Females have them.

A very good article and it's a pity the Guardian can't be so honest about gender identification politics and that Labour is so mixed up about it.

LOL. I give it 60/40 that her braggadocio refers to a dildo, so at least she’s less absurd in this particular way than the “suck my girl dick” contingent. Though of course many other avenues of absurdity remain open to her and it sounds like she’s chosen most of them.

Indeed

'Terfs can suck my boy dick...'

It's hilarious. I once ended up in an online Instagram spat which I ended with,

'Ahhhh so a girl's clit is just a boy dick? So what you mean is you have a girl clit? Not a dick? You are dickless?

He had no answer and fucked off from whence he came.

Thank you @boonducks , @MrsOvertonsWindow and @flyingbuttress43 your advice is much appreciated. DT it is then.

I also take great pleasure in the 'you've read a million articles this month but may us not a penny' reminders.

I know the "young woman with aquamarine hair". Quite amusing last time our paths crossed, that she was comforting a man in a dress saying 'youre a strong butch lesbian and it doesnt matter what they think' .... while preaching about how we all need to ask before touching at this event last year, the man in a dress gave me a hug out of nowhere! I'd not even exchanged more than two words with him!

The Telegraph paywall is easy to bypass, just switch your device to airplane mode as soon as you've opened the article

There are some humdingers among the 800+ comments on the article - I have read only a fraction of them but a couple of notable ones are near the top. They don't hold back: See for instance MC and AA.

I laughed at this one, though not sure whether the writer really thinks we are dangerous:

"No such thing as an "ordinary woman"...they are all highly dangerous...which is why my money is on them...The real ones, I mean."

Just posting to say that this made me laugh - hard.

I am very glad that article was published.

It's a great article. I read an archived copy which you might be able to find. It's really good to have a journalist report on the experience of attending the meeting and having to run the gauntlet of protesters who have talked themselves in to hating everyone who is attending. A new readership will start to raise an eyebrow.

A pp said the times were early on the subject. It reminded me of this article from June 2018 by David Aaronovitch which describes (in the middle) the difficulties that wpuk were having meeting to discuss gra reform. It was one of the earlier things I read when I had the 'uh oh' moment (well spring/summer rather than moment).
