They appear to have hijacked what is going on in America with abortion for their own purposes. “Women should have have the right to say what happens with their own bodies” “We should support each other”

It’s not remotely the same thing - another life is involved with abortion and mothers can die without access to safe abortion. I can’t believe they think it is a valid position to equate the two things and see a parallel.

what is really getting on my wick though is the talk about being a ‘girl’ and ‘girlhood’. Girls are children, females over 18 are women. Talk of girls makes me think that there is something else going on, but best not mention that. Grrrrr (and breathe)…….

I had a quick look at your link but didn’t follow it. There are articles about this out there. My understanding is that Roe vs Wade is based on the whole freedom of personal autonomy thing rather than being about abortion itself. By cancelling it, a lot of other laws will be cancelled or altered as well. It might be a decision full of unintended consequences.

I've been to the US twice in my life. I will probably never go again. I can't unsee what I've seen the last few years and it appears to be a backward looking, misogynistic, racist country and getting worse.

When we went in 2000 a waitress was making racist comments about other customers to us. Very uncomfortable for us, but she seemed to think we would share her vile opinions as fellow white people. I know we have racism in this country, but the casual acceptance of it in the US was an eye opener.

I suspect there is more medical research and understanding in abortion than there is in the medicine used for ‘transition’.
