Times Leader today:

'Despite the increase in the number of female MPs and women working in parliament, there is little doubt that attitudes among some male MPs remain stuck in the last century. There is also no question that a hard-drinking culture, which has largely disappeared from nearly every other profession but which persists in Westminster, contributes to a dysfunctional working environment. The combination of excessive alcohol consumption, long hours often far from home, and complicated power dynamics leads to boundaries becoming blurred and many women becoming victims of unwanted sexual attention.'

The HoC one of the last bastions of old stylee misogyny in this country. Neatly intersecting with the new style of misogyny. Some MPs will be adept at both. Some will roundly condemn one while practicing the other. Many of the most gifted in the new style will be women, who are victimised by and condemn the first while practicing the second...on other women!

Sorry, should have said #NotaĺlMPs.

I'm actually quite an upbeat, optimistic person. But sometimes I admit I'm not smiling I'm baring my teeth. Grin
