Fascinating new polling! Thanks for posting.

DomesticatedZombie · 02/05/2022 17:55

Very enlightening.

Thanks, Wings, if that is yourself.

Thanks for link.

Who does the sampling for the survey? I want to understand if the respondents are selected in a way which makes them look like the overall voting population (i.e., not obtained from one political online site, say).

But the finding that young men are the ones least likely to use the biological definition of what a woman is is fascinating. Only half of them picked that one while clear majorities of all other age/gender(sex?) categories picked the biological definition.

It's a Panelbase poll so will be properly sampled.

I did that survey @nepeta
It was per invitation from Panelbase. I think it was combined with a survey for the Times, there was an article about their survey earlier this week, I'll find it in a moment. It went through some questions like age, gender (pretty sure, gender not sex) if I voted in the last general elections, Scottish elections, Indyref, and how. Then it asked about Scottish Indepence and how I rate the SG wrt education and other stuff, how I would vote in case of another indyref. Then there were these questions from wings. It didn't say they were from a different PB client but it makes sense to combine them, I suppose, because you'd want the same information on background of the people who answered.

GibbonsGoatsGibbons · 02/05/2022 21:34

Thanks for that

Rainbowshit · 02/05/2022 21:51

That first question is quite astonishing!

Melroses · 02/05/2022 22:03

It was amazing how many thing dressing in skirts, high heels and wearing a bra is living as a woman, although heartening that plenty know what a woman is.

I expect there is a lot of confusion as to what the proposed change in the law entails or where we are now, as it has not been very clear for anyone who has not been doing their own research on this.

Thanks for this thorough answer. Didn't mean to make someone do all that work writing it down but it's great. Also thanks to ItsAllGoingToBeFine. (hope that handle proves to be true for all of us)

Yeah, but not child-care and home-care. Apparently 'woman' is a costume to put on and take off. For those who deny reality, anyway.

I'm not Wings, just a follower. :) He is a member here as RevStu, but not a frequent poster. "Wings" refers to his blog, "Wings over Scotland" which was huge during indyref but now largely archived, upon which he now publishes the occasional gender critical article.
