Thanks for this!

He speaks fluently and comes across as being very moderate in his views.

The details of how his training contract was terminated are shocking.

Half way through; he's bang on about how children are seeing this.

I'm in various teacher groups and all are describing friendship groups, mostly girls, all identifying as trans in some sort of capacity together. I was told of a group who came back after the Easter break last week all non binary (Scotland.) to me, this year, the anecdotes are flooding in compared to the previous 5-6 years I've been very aware of all this.

I know of parents who have teens who say you just can't be "cis" or straight.

He's also bang on about how this is getting in by the back door. I've been moaning about it for ages; there's so many books now, a teacher can just choose to read them to the class as reading is the Big Focus for Ofsted now.

No one would know (as in curriculum leads and the slt) unless the children told parents and the parents complained- but certainly my own 9 yr old son rarely discusses what he's done at school.

All teachers have or share a twinkl account. Twinkl is captured. So are the teaching groups. It's become "fact" via word of mouth.

I'm glad Konstantin said "what we said would happen is happening" re detransitioners. Well, not glad, but pleased they've recognised the magnitude of the issue.

@triggerpod thank you for this piece (hope that's the right name!)

*"It's become "fact" via word of mouth."

I mean that trans as a fact and a fact of life, as being same sex attracted is, has been embedded as a "fact" in many young teacher's minds. They wouldn't see the gov guidance on this as appropriate, and probably see it as Tory hyperbole.

Re links with autism - those of us who do work with or know young people more adults on the autistic spectrum do understand those links very well. We aren't allowed to discuss it.

The National autistic society is completely captured too.

It gave me the same vibe as the recently developments in the Helen Webberley case, a lot of the relevant groups have invested so much in the gender identity ideology that they cannot afford to move away from it, they view the cost involved as impossibly high.

A good watch. Odd that it was noticeably shorter than a typical interview on the channel.

It really is getting out of hand in schools. Desperately so.

It's going to take so long to undo the damage as so many teachers simply do not see the issues, some parents don't, there are so many random teaching resources from random providers, as they discussed in the interview.

Also, teachers make and willingly share resources. Powerpoints. They share ideas for lessons. This stuff won't be moderated and unless slts are clued up and actively checking, it won't be seen. But I know of headteachers who are basically TRAs.

oldwomanwhoruns · 28/04/2022 00:35

I'd not heard of Twinkl, Warrior.
So I just looked it up. And did a search on Trans 😡
You are right, it's all captured nonsense.
Gvmt need to do something. Quickly.

The capture of the National Autistic Society is one act I will never forgive. They are letting down autistic children and their families children hugely. Our local group has loads of families with trans identifying daughters, all sent to Mermaids and it’s utterly heartbreaking seeing what’s done to these children.

I had a close look at Twinkl during lockdown because it was being promoted so heavily. They had a document: LGBT+ Inclusive Education Primary Best Practice Guide. It's still online and you can get access to it.

The copy I had, had statements like being gay is being attracted to people of “the same gender”. And that gender is “…a person’s own feeling of whether they identify as a man, woman, or neither”. It defined transgender: “…people whose gender identity is not the same as the sex they were assigned at birth”.
