Welcome. Women are fighting back. 💪💪

Oh we are ..💪

I'll add my thanks too. Keep up the fight. We women fought hard for our rights, and all the women speaking out like JK Rowling, Martina Navratilova, etc. have worked hard for their successes. So forget this 'be kind' nonsense.

Mandodari · 25/04/2022 12:42

I'm the same, only joined last week after having a bizarre conversation with someone who told me they were a woman even though they obviously weren't. I left feeling confused, angry and fearing I was a secret bigot. I felt terrible about the abuse heaped on women like JK and Margaret Attwood but didn't know anyone else who wanted to talk about it. I don't live in the UK but feel such a connection with those posting here.

Welcome

GibbonsGoatsGibbons · 25/04/2022 12:51

we're stronger together 👏👏👏

We certainly are and don't 'they' know and fear us...💪

Hello new posters!

My sanity has been saved by having this space (imperfect though it necessarily is) to vent and discuss and test my own thoughts. So glad our numbers are growing!

A warning to new people (really, really lighthearted).

I came to look in these boards, then I started to hang out quietly, then I started to do some research, then looked for where to 'plant' good things for women's rights, now I'm softly challenging things I see.

I'm even considering crocheting and yarn-bombing in Suffragette colours....

Things can escalate (at your own pace).
Be warned!

Ha! I went and bought me a dinasour necklace at the weekend on the back of some kind poster explaining its significance. I also bought a Deeds Not Words brooch - can't wait to start wearing them!

You might have some fellow feeling with a comment on another thread that nicely captured the concerns of many people, not just those in the legal profession.

I used to be at the bar and have spoken to a number of judges about this…

The vast majority of judges are decent men. They want to do the right thing. They also tend to be MC, white and privileged with little to no understanding of the trans issues raging.

It’s a dangerous combination. They don’t want to say or do the wrong thing so they lap up the training given by lobby groups, legitimately believing in what they’re told and genuinely fearing that they might actually be bigots when they find this stuff doesn’t make sense.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/a4379444-Maya-back-in-court-tomorrow-20th-Oct?msgid=111785546

It is the fear of second-guessing yourself to be an unwitting or unconscious bigot. This underpins preference falsification and has its own impact on what conversations happen in public spaces. And, the more that people don't see their perspectives represented in public spaces, the greater the motivation to conceal them and so it goes.

Grin

I've been wearing dinosaur earrings for ages, and have 3 pairs now. I wear them because I love them, but am now putting them back in for this. I'd missed this significance somehow.

Will now be looking for dinosaur jewelry wearers!

FemaleAndLearning · 25/04/2022 21:03

Oooh where were the Dino earrings from?

MissPollysFitDolly · 25/04/2022 21:56

Hello catsandcoffee, I'm another sending thanks out to the women of these boards. I joined a few days ago but have been lurking since the end of 2019 after stumbling across the gender ideology issue.

I couldn't believe what was being discussed. Instead of prioritising scientific fact & safeguarding, people in authority were bending over backwards to placate trans activists. Imagine male offenders being placed in women's prisons!

I'll link the ones I have. I sell on Etsy, but I'm not this seller so not an advert, and I don't have the skills for this.

Plus Parasaurolophus is my favourite.

www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1053421495/parasaurolophus-dinosaur-stud-earrings?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=silver+dinosaur+parasaurolophus&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&frs=1&organic_search_click=1

But there are loads if you look, and reasonably priced (IMO)

Fimofriend · 26/04/2022 14:04

What's with the dinosaurs?

FemaleAndLearning · 26/04/2022 17:59

Thanks for link
Dino thing: David Lammy said women were dinosaurs hoarding their rights.
So women bought dinosaur costumes and protested.
womansplaceuk.org/2021/09/29/david-lammy-on-the-today-programme/

Peregrina · 26/04/2022 19:52

I daresay if Lammy had fought for his rights he too would want to 'hoard' or hang onto them. I doubt if he'd give them away willingly.

Mandodari · 26/04/2022 20:35

@FemaleAndLearning
Thanks for the link! I wonder if he still believes it's something that won't come up on the doorstep.😆
