Don't miss the opportunity to tell the government what a woman is. Submissions need to be in by April 28!
Received the following information from caWsbar (Canadian Women's Sex-based Rights)
Dear caWsbar associates and supporters:
This is a call to action.
We have been advised of an active federal consultation regarding Canada's Employment Equity Act (EEA).
You are encouraged to read our guidance below, as well as the government's Guide to written submissions for the Employment Equity Act Review, and respond to the government's invitation to tell them what a woman is -- before April 28, 2022.

Public Consultation on the Review of the EEA
What is a woman? Is it a sex category? A social status? A personal identity?
The federal government task force is examining this question as part of a review of the Employment Equity Act and its supporting programs.
The Task Force will consider if the definition “woman” should be “updated and modernized” or new employment equity groups added to reflect the needs of LGBTQ2+ stakeholders.
This is an opportunity for your opinion regarding the definition of woman to be recorded and considered as the government moves forward with it LGBTQAI+ inclusion strategies.
