As the Respect my Sex campaign catches fire I think it would be useful to find out how the Mens Rights TRA movement has affected various places in the UK. So far Respect My Sex is more central - I think it would be good to share what's happening in Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Mann, not just England.

The only way to fight this is to unite - what affects one area will have a knock on effect on others. We ALL need to know how this is affecting women and girls up and down the whole of the UK.

Ireland isn’t in the uk. You mean Northern Ireland.

Well as an Irish person can ye include both Northern Ireland and Ireland as we are fighting this too with many of us living in various parts of the UK. We unfortunately had the Self ID legislation brought in by stealth.

I found this article about it

Looking at that article which was an eye opener to me it seems to be implying that Irish children have been sent to the Tavistock in London!

I'll try and find a link to The Countess.

"The Countess is a group of progressive women from all walks of life including doctors, lawyers and students. We are volunteer-led, self-funded and not affiliated with any political party or religion."

I thought "Respect my sex" started in Scotland with the last election?

I remember seeing ribboned shoes outside Holyrood to represent the women who were murdered in the previous year. It was very striking and very moving.

Must admit, I am more worried about what's going on in NI and Scotland than in England - women on both sides of the border in Ireland still can't access abortion and Sturgeon is two steps away from bringing in red cloaks and scold's bridles.

I'm really surprised to find that MSPs block feminists on social media. It's bizarre - they really don't want to hear from women!

It supports the popular contrivance and deflection of: I haven't heard that or That's not what I'm hearing from women/my constituents

women-uniting.co.uk/about/

I've also found this cross party resource if anyone is interested.

Although I am really struggling because I can't find a party I would feel safe voting for in order to be able to work cross party if you see what I mean!

Anyway also here is Posie talking to Laoise Uí Aodha de Brún, leader of The Countess didn't vote for this.

You don't need a link. The Irish children can not be catered for in Ireland. So what was done was the Health Service organised for people from the Tavistock to come over once a month or once a week I can't remember which, to see the children. They assessed them and then they were sent to the Tavistock in London if it was deemed they were eligible. Ireland doesn't have enough of a population to have the expertise.

Out of sight (or out of hearing distance) out of mind. When Sturgeon is shouting “Shame on you!” across the Holyrood chamber to Murdo Fraser she's using a MRA-TRA tactic of trying to silence others from speaking.

Ladies on here be aware the TRA in Ireland and on Twitter have been going after Laoise and The Countess group since the beginning. Luckily the backlash in the UK is an inspiration to the Countess group and to women like me. In addition the main medic in Ireland in this area, Professor Donal O'Shea, who has been dealing with disturbed children for decades is an expert. He is not into 'affirmation'. And he's been roundly attacked by the TRA's for this stance. He's probably saved a lot of children as he believes most of them have mental health issues rather than being trans. Yes he does believe some people are trans, which is true. But it's been toxic for him for about the last 10 years.

Basically what is decided at the Tavistock is what happens to Irish children for this. But women/mothers are fighting back for their children. Those that have not been captured.

Roseglen84 · 12/04/2022 12:35

I'm also in Ireland and looking on jealously at the sunlight this is getting the UK.
We are so far behind with all this shit - the legislation is already here and has been for a few years (as Cailin pointed out it was brought in without public knowledge).

Our government are cowards who won't act on this until it plays out somewhere else. It's very frustrating to have so little awareness and public discussion about it here.

BrownTableMat · 12/04/2022 13:42

Wales, Scotland etc are nations, not regions

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 12/04/2022 14:20

Thanks, @LittleWhingingWoman, I hadn't seen that interview with Laoise.

Shocking, the whole thing is just totally mad.
