DomesticatedZombie · 10/04/2022 19:36

Oh, and Dennis Kavanagh.

FemaleAndLearning · 10/04/2022 19:37

Really good discussion.

Appalonia · 10/04/2022 19:37

This is so brilliant, I can't actually believe it's being discussed on TV!

Asking where are the autistic charities?
Well, National Autistic Society are captured.

Appalonia · 10/04/2022 19:42

I really hope this is available to watch later on YouTube and Twitter, it was fantastic, and a great thing to share on your social media.

@Appalonia

"A reckoning is coming..."
It is.
OutsideVoice · 10/04/2022 19:46

All autistic charities I know of are well and truly captured, included small local ones.
If anyone says anything vaguely GC they’re out.

In light of this I might write to the NAS again.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 10/04/2022 19:46

I don't normally watch GB News but if it's available later perhaps someone can share a link?

Appalonia · 10/04/2022 19:49

It's Free Speech Nation - usually repeated at midnight on Freeview. Best thing on GB News by far. Proper intelligent discussions. FairPlay to Andrew Doyle. Think they normally stick it on YouTube too.

Nomoreusernames1244 · 10/04/2022 19:54

Oh, and Dennis Kavanagh

I’ve only just discovered Noted Heterosexual Dennis Noel Kavanagh on Twitter. Really enjoy his tweets.

Just been on to check I had the name right and turns out he was suspended yesterday Shock

FemaleAndLearning · 10/04/2022 20:07

I'm sure Andrew Doyle is in this board!

Whatthechicken · 10/04/2022 20:38

Those two were brilliant. Clear, concise, empathetic.

Appalonia · 10/04/2022 20:48

Here's a link. This is REALLY worth watching! And sharing.

The protest was tiny- a primary school assembly is bigger. Some interesting outfits for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon!
corlan · 10/04/2022 21:17

Thanks for the link Appalonia. The arguments were put so clearly and passionately. The final question is heartbreaking though. Where are the children's commissioners and the autism charities? I swear there was supposed to be an enquiry when Theresa May was in power into why so many autistic kids are transitioning - it's never happened though.

Appalonia · 10/04/2022 21:22

I know. So many organisations and institutions have been very negligent on this issue, and blinded to the dangers of this. I really think eventually it will all come out, but so many pp will have been damaged by this in the meantime.

OP posts:
Sunflower987 · 10/04/2022 21:43

Yes I found the final part sad too, about where is everybody.
It's so awful, like watching a car crash when you know they could apply the breaks to stop it. Sad

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/04/2022 21:45

Sarah and Dennis both absolutely superb and deserve a far far wider platform. So clear, so informed.

As an aside, doesn't Sarah have the most beautiful speaking voice?

Biding their time until the dam breaks, at which point hoping they can shake their heads sadly, blame someone else and say 'lessons have been learned'?
Cailin66 · 10/04/2022 23:08

Why was Kavanagh banned from Twitter?

MangyInseam · 10/04/2022 23:49

A lot of the parents I know involved in autism charities seem to take the view that autistic children are more likely to be "gender diverse" (which is a good thing) because they are more open and less hemmed in by stupid social expectations.

The more grounded parents have left these kinds of organizations, not always over this but because they find them in general very polarizing and judgmental.
