Nancy Kelley on LBC saying social media is full of people talking over each other and shouting on the issue of trans rights.

She called women NAZIS, sexual racists and compared us to anti-semites.

She thinks saying all these things is justified because she is right. I would never call anyone a Nazi unless they were suggesting actual genocidal crimes. I would never weaponise the struggle against racism to get my own way because it’s obviously deeply immoral to do so.

She is just awful.

And no, the concern about banning ‘conversion practices’ for ‘trans kids’ isn’t that people are worried those children wouldn’t be able to access general therapy. It‘s that (as NK wishes) the starting point in law would be that any child suffering from gender-related distress would be treated as ‘trans’, despite that having no definition in UK law, and despite the nearest thing to it that is defined being people who are undergoing something called ‘gender reassignment’, which, for kids, is a deeply contested and medically fraught issue.

To be fair, she called nearly everyone a sexual racist. Anyone who defines who they want to have with by ‘some males’ or ‘some females’ is apparently comparable to people who want racially segregated schooling.

Given the amount of sunlight pouring in all over the place of late (not before time, either) we can look forward to the Koolaid gang losing it, big time. They know the game is up so wailing and gnashng of teeth is all they have left. Given how truly mental some of these grifters are I will be surprised if they dont kill someone (God forbid) before this is over.

Hopefully it will confine itself to wailing and gnashing. Though we all know we’ve had enough of that already.

I think NK was never the right person to be CEO of stonewall. She was at NatCen and before that a policy wonk at DWP. If I remember it took them ages to appoint so clearly despite the high wage/profile few ppl from the usual charity sector gravy train it was considered a poisoned chalice.

I imagine she is sealed in a complete echo chamber of ppl telling her she’s right & that “TERFS” literally want trans ppl destroyed. She’s overseen stonewalls power crumble & as she sees it, is dealing with attacks on all front

When GC feminists invade another country, build death camps and there are millions dead I might see the comparison. Turns out she doesn’t care if we agree or not, as long as we don’t express our disagreement. At all.

I do wonder if there was ever any hope that she might have pulled stonewall round to be reasonable or whether it didn’t matter who they appointed, there was no way they’d be diverted

I also find it interesting that generally if a charity is being publicly roasted like this that the Chair steps up & speaks, and yet stonewalls chair is utterly invisible

It’s indefensible IMO to go about slinging slurs like that at anyone. You’d think that in our current context, with Putin claiming Ukraine is full of “Nazis” in order to justify a genuine mass slaughter, that the woke ideologues would quietly mothball all of that poor taste teenage talk about “Nazis” and “fash”.

But no! Funnily it does not seem to occur to them that if your chosen slurs are the same as Vladimir Putin’s then you might have a propaganda problem.

Given the magnitude of the horror unfolding in Ukraine, the one thing I was vaguely looking forward to was some of these idiots quietly getting some perspective. And yet we still hear utter bilge about the nonexistent “trans genocide” while Russian soldiers white literally carry out actual genocide right in front of us all.

I found it surprising that they appointed someone who seems even more ideologically driven than Ruth Hunt and certainly lacks Comms finesse.

I wonder whether the length of the process was actually because they wanted a true believer and it's the board that is driving Stonewall off the cliff?

I think there are plenty of more experienced people who would have taken the role thinking (probably rightly) that they could steer a middle ground. I think stonewall CEO is too attractive on CVs for the problems to put many off.
