Do you boycott local shops that don't support biology?

Specifically selling period products for people who menstruate? Recommending mooncups for people who have given birth etc.
They've been called out on it and I'm really peeved as they were a great independent shop with lots of vegan items and items by weight, natural products for body, hair and home. Expensive but I supported them as they are local, friendly and ethical. Now their ethics don't align with mine. It seems like nothing is free of identify politics anymore.

Sorry, double post.

I suppose what I'm saying is, we seem to be denying biological sex - breaking it down into its components like menstruation, childbirth etc and ignoring the whole - while raising up 'gender ', which can only mean reinforcing cultural stereotypes about how women and men should behave. It seems regressive and anti-feminist.

It quickly descended into a massive TRA pile on. I hadn't even mentioned trans or non-binary and I was called a terf, a nazi, narrow-minded. I was told sex isn't binary,and many of the things I've read on this forum from those who say twaw.

I was also called a misogynist, disingenuous,and of gaslighting myself and my view being akin to the homophobia of the 80s. The DARVO going on was something else. It was quite the eye-opener.

I will boycott any company big or small as much as possible.

I notice Lush is always empty, good good.

VelvetChairGirl · 12/04/2022 10:16

@Artichokeleaves

Yup.

Also now won't go into M&S without a hazmat suit.

I buy their food, and I get my sons school uniform in there because the local council keep giving me hardship vouchers, you have to pick from a selection of shops and they send you a evoucher, I always go with M&S or John Lewis and save them up for kids clothing, order online for delivery instore, but I wont buy any clothing for myself in there with or without vouchers, I am not setting foot in the changing room, I dont even want to touch any of it tbh no idea what someones been doing with it in the changing room.

@Rights

Don’t worry *@CervixSampler* - many of them will soon be feeling like the idiots they are now that the tide finally seems to be turning. I think the majority of keyboard warriors are brainwashed teens looking for an outlet for their angst. In a few years’ time when they need to start working, paying bills, etc, most of them will grow out of it.

I started boycotting Lush when they started promoting breast binders to teenage girls… I also won’t buy period pants etc from companies who refuse to use the word “woman”.

Like @ZaraSizeMedium I’m also not averse to stickering…

if your on facebook you can click on the profiles, the TRAs are global, there was a recent BBC report on their facebook for example about the EHRC clarification about the law and one particular TRA was getting very upset about it, he was an American living in Japan according to his profile, the majority of GC replies were British presumably because its british news about british law. but TRAs moaning on it from Australia, canada etc. it really does make it look like theres more of them then their actually are.

I have a theory about that, the effects of social media, how we dont tend to comprehend the fact its global and not local, how that affects perceptions in the real world. how many of these companies pushing inclusion of pronouns etc actually even have any employees that are demanding it? not many I think, and if we didnt have this big social media push warping perceptions into thinking theres a massive angry mob out there just waiting to pounce, how many would actually hold those few employees demands as being more important then the majority view? not many I think as that would be unfair and not equality.

I have boycotted my local rep theatre ever since they made the women’s toilets mixed sex.
I now attend plays and concerts in my next nearest town instead, where there is none of this pandering to male rights activists.

I am boycotting several nationwide stores (online too) for not supporting biology
Haven't yet found any problems with local independent stores or places
Now I know where to get my stickers from, Standingforwomen.com, I shall make good use of them, where needed, wherever my travels take me
