Managed to cover several bases badly . Gay man using surrogate mother , plus 15 year old trans “girl” trying for acceptance from parents. Even only watching with one eye, both me and partner clocked the person immediately they came into view. Mother not accepting but vicar father saying must support even if they are a girl. No discussion o& other factors at work but immediate affirmation by gay male nurse. I really wish I hadn’t bothered..

Sounds like it's picking up the 'Naice People Think This' work that the BBC sends Call The Midwife' out to do.

Thing is, shows like Casualty are filmed and lined up to be broadcast about a year in advance.

A LOT has happened in a year.

I'd assume this will be one of the last in a run of gender ideology propaganda given the situation now.

(High fives GC activists speaking out everywhere).

I don't watch but they could actually do some good- transman comes in, doesn't say they are trans and has complications because they assess for males. Make it clear that medics need your biology, not your emotions.

Can you say any more about the surrogacy story? I wonder what message was being peddled there.

Runningupthecurtains · 10/04/2022 09:45

I too clocked that the "girl" was male from the very first shot they were in so it was a little hard to believe that trained medical staff had totally failed to notice.

Monitaurus · 10/04/2022 10:36

Some confusion in the surrogacy story line as we were supposed to assume that the man /father was not involved but had been a sperm donor, when surprise, turned out he had got a surrogate to provide him with a baby. B/f initially upset but then thinks he has found a good un, despite not being told about father hood plan . Prepared to forgo clubbing lifestyle. Perhaps a good thing when you see what is happening to 15 year olds partaking

@Runningupthecurtains

Very obvious from the get go that it wasn't a 15 year old girl.

Dowdily dressed middle aged woman "wrong" for not accepting her son is a girl. Tick ✅

Kindly vicar man right for accepting tick ✅

Suicide attempt storyline tick ✅ shame on you BBC.

Man is commissioning baby from surrogate - who happens to have pain & bleeding - naturally the greatest concern is for the feelings of the man's partner.

Misogyny, Misogyny, Misogyny.

There's something suspicious about this surrogacy thing. The mother said that they were having a baby which I don't believe is something a surrogate would say. That's something someone who is expecting to raise a baby with its father would say.
