She nailed every point and politely, but firmly, handed the interviewer her “TWAW/Be Kind” arse to her.

Honestly, if J K Rowling is Queen, this woman is the heir to the throne!

She is wonderful.

littlbrowndog · 07/04/2022 11:27

She so is

@MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking

That was bloody brilliant Grin

What a stupid line of interviewing, yeah, shouldn't female athletes just be kind and understanding and let any male in to steal their spaces and win their medals because Michael Phelps Hmm

Sharron swept the floor with her!

I thought it was quite clever. The interviewer used points that frequently come up on Twitter. This interview showed how ridiculous they are and how they basically boil down to BeKind with total disregard for female athletes.

Yes I was wondering whether the interviewer was just lobbing Twitter type statements for Sharron tonknock away. She never interrupted Sharron, maybe she was not really cluelessHmm

Ghislainedefeligonde · 07/04/2022 12:01

How embarrassing for the interviewer, Sharron absolutely nailed it! Fantastic to watch this

CrossPurposes · 07/04/2022 12:04

@ginghamstarfish

I live in Scotland and have never seen or heard of this program so not sure how big viewing figures would be. Great thing to do, but even better if it's in the popular press, DM, Scottish Daily Mail etc.
It's on STV/Grampian. This edition was broadcast at the same time as Newsnight.
bellinisurge · 07/04/2022 12:04

She's only getting better at this. I'm in awe

Chipchocmint · 07/04/2022 12:17

Sharron was fantastic on this and quite right saying that the sport governing bodies don't understand the science, I myself have learnt so much from the wonderful female posters on here and undoubtedly know more than them too!

Igmum · 07/04/2022 12:33

Yes yes yes Sharon! Plenty of facts, well presented while that idiot interviewer burbled be kind

Beardyblokesbegone · 07/04/2022 13:14

She would run rings around those sports bodies when it comes to discussing science, she's a wonderful, intelligent woman.

Great interview with Brendan O'Neill on his podcast.

Fabulous

I’m not sure the interviewer didn’t gift her all those scenarios etc on purpose to get those straight answers out there. I find frustrating that the testosterone levels don’t get mentioned enough, and the Phelps advantage always gets brought up as being exclusive. Sharon David had a great opportunity there to set the record straight.

I loved her answer to the ‘shouldn’t were just have empathy’ question.

Moodlesofnoodles · 07/04/2022 23:38

She was great on Fox News in 2019 - talking about the Olympics and saying that the options were an Open competition and a biological women's competition, or a separate Trans games. She said she knew what it felt like for women to compete in these circumstances, because she spent 10 years competing against the East Germans, knowing that it was simply impossible to beat them.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 08/04/2022 01:05

Poor Rhona. That was a wee shame.

HeirloomTomato · 08/04/2022 06:27

I love the hard stare Sharron Davies gives the interviewer when she trots out the ridiculous 'but let's just be kind...' trope at the end. This puzzled look as if she's never even heard of such nonsense and then her response to reframe it back onto the issue of why women should give up opportunities to accommodate athletes who were born male. Perfection.

Helleofabore · 08/04/2022 06:34

To be fair, I couldn’t work out if the presenter was simply feeding Sharron the most popular trope to have them answered, or was given those tropish points by a weak research team, or actually that was the level of her critical thinking.

Either way, the incredulity Sharron displayed at the end with that ‘be kind’ crap that only went one way was excellent. It
