They will introduce the policy in every council area where the party is in power after May’s local elections.

The party’s gender reform spokesman Meghan Gallacher:
It is essential that we continue to respect women’s safety. We cannot allow long-held rights to be eroded. Many women feel that their place in society and their safety is under threat. Those views should be listened to and respected, not dismissed, as they have been on to many occasions by the SNP and Greens.

Oooft. That's brutal. Sturgeon and Harvie will be spewing in their polyamorous party bed!

jkrfan · 06/04/2022 11:30

This is good.

GibbonsGoatsGibbons · 06/04/2022 11:31

Excellent

A potato with an SNP rosette would get voted in round here Hmm but moving the conversation forward & opening it up to more people is great news.

Given that you can vote for multiple candidates in order of preference in the Scottish local elections, I am wondering if I should use all my votes? In the past I have stated a preference for all parties except the SNP. I will never vote SNP but should I give any preference numbers to LibDem and Labour given that they also both have TWAW policies.
I think I will have to look at Councillor track record and at least one LibDem will also get my vote alongside the Conservatives.

jkrfan · 06/04/2022 11:39

I also do not give a preference to the Greens.

Good.

jkr, I've never quite worked out how best to approach the voting - I don't know if it's even really possible to vote tactically with the STV. In actuality you makes your votes and it's anyone's guess who'll get in.

Just seen in the DM that the same Tory spokes person has said something weird on the Conversion Therapy thing. But I suppose the devil's in the definitions lol.

Hoardasurass · 06/04/2022 20:52

Hmm my local alba member has said that he'll "protect women's rights " am waiting to hear back from him on his definition of a woman, might have to split my vote between him and the tories

Justme56 · 06/04/2022 21:09

I believe Lisa Keogh is standing as an alba candidate which is great considering the rubbish she went through at Uni.
