Absolutely appalling to target their sponsorship, just because they are standing up for female athletes rights to fair competition.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 03/04/2022 17:53

I suspect (and hope) that the tide has turned enough to ensure that even the usual captured press officers can't have failed to notice the tsunami of outrage at the activities of Lia and Emily and all the other males encroaching on women's sport.
Hopefully companies and even the misogynistic sports governing bodies will have to speak out (for the 1st time) against threats and bullying of sportswomen.

McDuffy · 03/04/2022 18:48

Was pondering this whole situation earlier and how we'll look back on it. Web archives mean people won't be able to claim they never did that/said that. Bloody awful for the victims now though Sad

tabbycatstripy · 03/04/2022 18:49

I’ve noticed a shift from corporations being a lot quieter on this issue. I wonder if they’re starting to get to grips with their work activist staff?

SunniDelite · 03/04/2022 18:59

TAs (beardy bros) on Twitter have contacted Nike and New Balance about sporting women's "transphobia".
I really hope I don't have to boycott New Balance as they're the only ones that do wide fit trainers!
But I'll go barefoot if necessary.....

Whatsnewpussyhat · 03/04/2022 19:48

Are they targeting the sportsmen who spoke out too?

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 03/04/2022 20:01

I think that sponsors should wake up to the bloody bullies and leave sportswomen alone.

tabbycatstripy · 03/04/2022 20:02

Obviously if any of those women lose their sponsorship there will be a media shitstorm to end all shitstorms.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 03/04/2022 20:37

@tabbycatstripy

Obviously if any of those women lose their sponsorship there will be a media shitstorm to end all shitstorms.
I hope that this would be the impact.

It's a tiresomely predictable attempt at chilling effect to athletes and to any woman who speaks up to defend sex-based rights.

tabbycatstripy · 03/04/2022 20:43

None of these athletes has said anything ‘transphobic’. A sponsor that suggested they had, and removed sponsorship, might even be legally liable for discriminating against them on the grounds of protected belief (?). More immediately, that sponsor would be saying they did not support female sport.

Thelnebriati · 03/04/2022 20:58

The problem with equality legislation as it now stands is the only person who can take legal action is the women who loses her sponsorship, unless the EHRC decides to get involved.
I think this needs to change. It shouldn't be up to victims to have to pay to get the law enforced.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 03/04/2022 21:03

It must be very frightening for these young athletes - standing up for women's sport only to have misogynists trying to get them cancelled. Hopefully the press (with the exception of the Guardian) are so aware of the threats and intimidation handed out by trans activists, as tabbycat pointed out, the shitstorm would be immense.

PronounssheRa · 03/04/2022 21:11

It's the same misogynistic beardy bros, every single time.

littlbrowndog · 03/04/2022 22:58

Yep and a Scottish dude as well. That one has history. He’s the one that go5 maya investaged by scouts.

Gregor something or other Murray.

Why do these men do this. It’s a weird and hateful hobby they have.

Why can’t they use their time better. Planting trees. Digging ditches clearing drains

Anything rather than constantly harassing women

ToothGrinder · 03/04/2022 23:02

They all have beards too. There's another one (a councillor) in Newcastle that was an admin on the labour v transphobia data protection abomination Facebook page who I swear is a carbon copy of this Gregor chap. All shit facial hair and misogyny.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 04/04/2022 12:37

They are like clones.
