Hello, I don’t normally post here but like to lurk!
I live in NI and do not want to vote for the usual ‘orange & green’ political parties in the forthcoming election. Alliance party are the obvious choice however their stance on trans rights and women’s rights (obviously) overlap. They have said they are concerned at the government not ‘improving’ the GRA also, my local candidate posted a story on Instagram praising Lizzo’s recent remarks about Texas being regressive about stopping pruberty blockers etc on children.
What I would like would be some of you experts to provide me with some questions for this candidate when she arrives on my doorstep? Would be GREATLY appreciated

Here you are OP.
This is a new doorstep crib sheet to ask all candidates from the new organisation, Women Uniting.

They are firmly in the ‘no debate’ camp. It’s so disappointing as they would also be the party who I would be most likely to vote for but this issue, coupled with their general sneering and belittling towards anyone with a different opinion to themselves on social media, is really off putting. Would be interested to hear how you get on with your discussion OP.

My local candidate is very much of the happy-flappy-why-can’t-we-all-get-along brigade.

I’m fantasise about her coming to our door, and me asking her what she thinks a woman is. And telling her that I’m a millennial, uni educated, mixed-married ex union rep- my support should not even be in doubt for her party.

But instead I’m looking at giving my vote to the old, stereotypical, white male UUP candidate because at least he’ll know the difference between a man and a woman.

Write to Naomi Long, get her to understand that you can't vote for her party whilst they are diminishing women's rights in favour of trans rights. With the complete mess of Northern Irish politics they should be picking up votes not potentially losing them.

@TerribleCustomerCervix Doug Beattie was quite vocal about trans rights unfortunate;ly

Sorry that was poorly worded, I mean he didnt seem to be able to grasp the fact they overlap with womens rights.
