I was thinking of doing that topic next year to avoid the BS on EVERY SINGLE SURVEY with gender identity listed rather than sex. You pipped me to the post! 
It's the first OU psych survey in a few years that I've seen which hasn't asked for "identity" (I don't complete the ones that do, unless they ask for sex too, which is vanishingly rare).
I hope your research goes well and you get a First!
Sorry to others for taking space up here with this, but I can't out myself on FB and I didn't want to raise it in the comments there in case it caused the student problems. I'm hoping she's on here - I mean she must be, right?! Although perhaps she's knee deep in data right now
