'Gender studies' and 'queer studies' have played a huge role in what they call 'queering the gender binary', but they have managed to do it while doing precisely nothing to break down the sex binary.

Transwomen rise up the corporate echelons as 'marginalised women', winning awards and - I would assume - keeping their male pay rises (and their bodies) intact, while transmen are encouraged to prostitute themselves in the woods and pay privately for (mostly male) surgeons to do unnecessary procedures on their secondary sexual characteristics.

It's not queering anything, is it?

@tabbycatstripy yes, 'queering' is doing precisely the opposite - pushing people back into the regressive 'gender' stereotypes we though we had broken free from in the 20th century. And 20 - 25 years ago the Left was 'no logo', anti-label, anti-corporate, anti-GM, suspicious of USA big business, especially where it reached into schools. Now it embraces labels, imported American quasi-religious ideology, and dosing the body (and hair!) with chemicals and surgery, putting themselves and their children into the sticky hands of big pharma for life.

So clearly written, and only when I got to the end did I realise why!

Which was my own fault because I got distracted by the very funny cartoon ( who knew feet could express so much) and didn’t read the title heading!
