Us Supreme Court new judge - I am not a biologist

I actually thought Supreme Court judges got to rule on quite a lot of things they weren't necessarily qualified in, but apparently the first black, female judge can't define what a woman is because she's not a biologist.

Not a surgeon either, but I assume would feel comfortable ruling on abortion rights?

She tried to walk that back the next day. It still didn’t go well.

From the bits I’ve watched she just doesn’t have immediate grasp of the current law on the issues she’s asked about. It’s weird. All her answers are about process, rather than having any substantive knowledge that she can draw upon.

You’d think that someone going into this process would know she’d be asked about hot topics and would have prepared so she could call up case references and such. She doesn’t have to agree with any single position, but an indication that she knows some law and can engage with and apply it would be nice.
