Had a look at the other thread but can't find what I'm looking for.

There is not enough room to record "believer in biology" for religion?
Also, what do we record for the TRANS question? Yes or No? If yes, what?

Tempted to write pansexual hamster or something ridiculous but DH doesn't want me to get arrested.

How could anyone be arrested for anything in the sex question?

I am considering ticking both female and male. I don't see how they can feasibly object.

RVN123 · 19/03/2022 16:47

I think it's because you can be prosecuted for defacing an official document?

Same as destroying a passport etc. So I've heard......

I'd accurately state that you're a woman - as otherwise resources for women may be reduced (if enough put down the wrong or both sexes).

MathSage · 19/03/2022 16:56

The Forwomen.scot site example misses out the spaces and runs all the words together. That’s what I did.

I didn’t answer the voluntary trans question. Why should I confirm the existence of something I doubt? Implicitly, gender identity.

I don't believe in it's existence either, but I want it recorded that I think it's bollocks and doesn't belong in the census. I'm not sure not answering it allows me to express that.

However, I don't want to tick "trans" either. I don't believe in gender so I guess I'm non-binary but also think that's utter pish, so perhaps I will just leave it blank.

Oh for an "other" box to say what we actually believe!

OP posts:
Finfintytint · 19/03/2022 17:06

I just put Believe in Biology which fits.

RVN123 · 19/03/2022 17:07

I put that in the "religion" section - did you put it in the "trans" question too?

RVN it's illegal to knowingly give false information on the census, but the government have made a mockery of this by saying anyone can fill in the 'sex' question in whatever way they feel. If I feel a bit female and a bit male, depending, then I cannot see any issue with ticking both boxes.

Finfintytint · 19/03/2022 17:09

RVN, just the religion question. Trans question, I left blank.

ResilienceWanker · 19/03/2022 17:11

I ignored the trans question. It's written for people who have both a sex and a gender identity, as you have to know if they match or not Confused. And it's voluntary anyway. Was tempted to cross it out and write n/a but read that that could get mistaken for an answer by the machines that scan through the paper forms (though not sure any machine will be able to read ours). And I don't want the SG reading anything into any answer - like that there are loads of trans people with pansexual hamster identity so they need to provide lots of tubes and wheels in public spaces... Grin DS desperately wanted to be recorded as cat gender, having read some balls from some university a while ago that this was a valid identity with its own pronouns... and was outraged as "cat isn't a gender... everyone knows that all cats are female dogs" But I said he wasn't allowed to answer that question as he wasn't 16...

I REALLY want wheels and tubes in public spaces, don't you dare try to oppress me! Pansexual hamsters unite!

ResilienceWanker · 19/03/2022 17:24

GrinBlush Soz! Didn't mean to do any violent oppression...

I definitely think tubes and wheel are something public money should be spent on. No cause is more important than to support the victimised minority of pansexual hamsters. Though would you allow allogender hamsters to use them too, or is it just for the pansexual ones?

TheCurrywurstPrion · 19/03/2022 17:27

Pansexual hamster is surely a fine response. I don’t think you can be arrested for writing nonsense in a box for recording nonsense.

The trans question is hard

Do I identify as trans = no
Is my gender identity the same as assigned at birth = no

Absolutely NOT. Allogender hamsters do not exist. They are ham-scum.

I just made it up so it must be recognised.

Anyway, I only identify as a pansexual hamster every third Tuesday.
After 1.30pm.

Trans question blank as was sexuality. That's none of their business. Believerinbiology fits if no spaces. We got 2 copies of the census

censustime · 19/03/2022 19:01

I haven't filled it in yet but plan on leaving all voluntary questions blank unless they are important for resources. How dare they ask about people's sexuality!

I will correctly record my sex as female (needs to be correct for resourcing) but will leave blank the trans question especially if it says 'assigned at birth' as I reject Gender Identity Ideology along with 99% people my age.

SolitaryBee · 19/03/2022 19:36

For question 22, "What do you feel is your national identity?" I was thinking of ticking "other" and putting "I object to identity politics" in the box below. Would that be illegal? It's true for me. The SNP have destroyed any feeling I had of a Scottish identity. Our other political parties have told us that women are second class citizens whose opinions, safety and dignity are not important. That leaves me without any options for voting. I don't feel like I belong in any of the other home nations offered, nor do I feel particularly British when Bojo is representing us.

DomesticatedZombie · 19/03/2022 19:49

I don't see how your feelings can be illegal.

ResilienceWanker · 19/03/2022 19:54

RVN123 lol @ ham-scum Grin... Maybe I should identify as one. Then they have to exist AND I get to use the wheels.

SolitaryBee I think that's absolutely fine. They can't say that how you feel about your national identity is inappropriate/ false info! I suppose you could write "none" in the other box, but you are saying more than that (I think!)... First that you don't have one, but also that you object to being expected to, and you object to politics being focused around this thing that you don't have. Which is quite fair and a reasonable response to a pretty silly question that they demand an answer to.

SolitaryBee · 19/03/2022 19:58

We have been told over and over again that feelings trump reality and I do genuinely feel completely disenfranchised by our political parties.

censustime · 19/03/2022 20:23

Actually if not born in Scotland, how sensible is it to let the SNP know that you were born in England/Wales/NI/other?

censustime · 19/03/2022 21:05

It's a compulsory question.

VenezuelaChant · 19/03/2022 21:31

I'm still waiting for my paper copy... 🙄
