Peter Tatchell has also in the past actively shouted for the age of consent to be lowered and believes a sexual relationship between a child and an adult can be a beautiful thing.

If you are old enough to remember PIE, you will be very familiar with that person. He still gets invited onto the TV, the radio, etc to give his opinion on anything to do with LGBTQ+++. It is a mystery.

I don’t really understand PIE and how it got any traction.
I vaguely remembered it at the time but it didn’t really register.
Only relatively recently have I read more and been shocked about their plan.

They had a lot of support from people in government. Including Harriet Harman, if I remember correctly. Whenever I am puzzled regarding how some people seem to be teflon coated, I assume they must know where the bodies are buried. Given that there are so many incompetent people in high office, even to the extent of being given peerages and knighthoods, there must be an awful lot of bodies.

Indeed. I wasn't a parent at that time, but I was working in the NHS in a job that required basic safeguarding and it was very obvious to me and all my colleagues.

Since having daughters I have properly opened my eyes

LBC seem to have a lot of night time listeners who are trans women. Many a night (insomniac) I have heard the voice of ‘Doris from Basingstoke’ and ‘Jane from Battersea’. Never heard a trans man call in though.

I listened to this, in fairness to Tom Swarbrick he often has 'trans' stories on.

I am disappointed however that, yet again, we get Peter Tatchel talking crap, whilst Tom did pull him up a bit, not enough in my view. He allowed the second caller way too long although they did let quite a lot of sunlight in. I agree @KittenKong they do given transwomen a lot of air time which actually I wouldn't mind if there was robust questionning.

The hour didn't focus sufficiently on the hospital incident imo.
