Just saw this twitter exchange between LF and Nimco Ali after Nimco thanks JKR.
I stand up for women Nimco - it’s just a kinder and more generous version than yourself. Perhaps more understanding and compassion might help you. Always willing to discuss. The objective is equality - which used to matter to you.

The woman is a disgrace, the smug arrogance of her.

What's the aim of drawing attention to individuals? If Lynn Featherstone gets a load of abuse for this it's hardly going to change her mind.

There are things going on in the Lib Dem party that might improve things, clearly Lynne Featherstone will fight against that but getting involved in a twitter spat won't help.

What a nauseating sanctimonious tweet by LF, bending the knee to the overlords.

I’ve just replied, yet again, to another plea for money from the LDs, telling them I won’t be donating while they’re throwing women’s rights under the bus.

I used to campaign for them. Leafleted for Layla Moran. Feel embarrassed now to have helped her on her way.

Never get a response from either the national or local party.

Featherstone chose to jump in and publicly chastise Nimco simply for saying thank you to JKR. Her choice. Calling out that patronising arrogance is entirely reasonable IMHO.

Great to hear that 'sex' has been reinstated as a protected characteristic in the LD constitution with an overwhelming majority BTW. Perhaps that's why Featherstone has popped up to chastise those unkind women who made it happen.

The Lib Dems are the most universally batshit party on this issue. It's close, but in all the other parties there are people who grasp this issue and have bravely spoken out. I can't think of a single one in the Lib Dems.

If Nimco believed male transitioners were women, and Lynne Featherstone was GC, I would still be on Nimco's side in this exchange! It's exceedingly rare that anyone has anything to learn about compassion from anyone who uses the surprised-at-you tactic to steer others back into the line.

The Party needs a lot of work doing, but there's a growing body of GC members who are working on it, and there are a few brave peers who have spoken out - for example Baroness Sarah Ludford, and Lord Clement-Jones. Watch this space!

As background Featherstone has close ties to Trans Media Watch and Helen Belcher (founder). LF is a long time collaborator in fucking over women.

Nimco Ali is popular and a close friend of Carrie Johnson. Hopefully this might peak some people.

Former minister Lynne Featherstone made the controversial claim as it emerged the party had recruited the transgender daughter of a convicted paedophile as a new diversity officer.

Aimee Challenor has been taken on by the party in Coventry despite leaving the Greens after her election agent father was arrested for raping a 10-year-old girl.

The move emerged after Baroness Featherstone, who is the Lib Dem’s energy and climate change spokesman, wrote a blog celebrating LGBT History Month claiming that the party had been campaigning for “gender neutral bathrooms, school uniforms and 'X' option on passports, official documents and forms for those who do not wish to identify as male or female.”

Calling for reform of the Gender Recognition Act, she added: “I also have a message to those people who believe they can restrict trans women's rights, deny their human rights or exclude them from women-only spaces in the name of feminists.
