Comments being turned off on certain articles in The Times

No prizes for guessing which articles! This has infuriated me. Anyhow, I just noticed today that people have started commenting instead on the next article in the newspaper. Therefore, the most liked comment on Carol Midgley's article was one commenting on Sarah Ditum's piece. Grin Of course, it was eventually deleted, but (most of) the replies are still standing!

I did smile at one comment that said "It seems the Times are currently defining women as those who cannot be trusted to comment on news about themselves."

I complained about this and received the following response:

‘Due to the number of issues we have had recently with comments on transgender articles we have turned off the comments for the time being. Thank you for your patience while we look into ways to prevent further issues so that we can re-instate the comments for those articles.’

This is the thread that directly follows the Starmer article and the Harold/Alexandra story. Seems it's the place to discuss the previous two articles as well as it's own subject matter.
