The company I work for is running a free day just for women today. No waffle about anyone who identifies etc.

I’m very heartened. And I’m wearing my WAHF t shirt to work today as well 🤣

Same to you 😊 to be honest, I'm worn out with all these celebration 'days' and 'months' and ignore most of them, but this is definitely one I can get on board with!

Just spotted it now.

Emma Barnett was just currently holding Anneliese Dodds' feet to the fire with "what is a woman?" in the section of Woman's Hour talking to politicians about IWD. Dodds was unable to answer the question beyond "well, it depends...".

I've just seen someone on FB posting pics of her daughters with a blurb about raising women and the hashtag #supportyoursistersnotjustyourcisters. x 1000.

IWD is a protest, not a party. However strength to all of the vipers here.

Its a national holiday in 27 countries as well, mainly ex soviet republics. More likely that International Men's Day is made a holiday in England though maybe Scotland and Wales would add it.

Ah, I did wonder how many posts before someone came along to bring up the menz.

It's great to see so many websites highlighting stories about women, but it always disappoints me that, come tomorrow, it will be back to business as usual.
