This was my first worry when I saw the video of the German train station with all those people holding signs for people to come and stay with them. Made me go cold.

It's awful and also awful in it's inevitableness. I'm very disappointed in the, so far, poor response by our own government to take refugees. However if in the longer term we could avoid this type of exploitation in the UK it would be something of a silver lining.

Short thread on this - unsubstantiated estimates of 20,000 women and children trafficked, but to be honest I wouldn't be surprised. I imagine it began from day 1 and it's now exactly a month later.

Well of course they are, these people disgust me. As if the people of Ukraine haven't been through enough already, but I guess this is a risk for most people fleeing war zones.

I'm sure our friend from PIE will be over shortly to scold us and tell us how Ukrainian women and children would love the opportunity to go live in a brothel without a passport. So clean, so friendly. The give you free STI checks you know?

Don't be so naive. Do you seriously think that all the women trafficked to sex work in the UK have visas and official leave to remain? By refusing Ukranian women a legal path to be here, the Government is ensuring that more of them are illegally exploited.

This is so disgusting, but depressingly I am not surprised by this at all.
