I've come to the conclusion that things like this are all about maintaining vuctimhood status.

Now for the most part no one cares. No longer is drag some seedy past time in a gay club its out there , mainstream . There's a popular TV show etc

So, what do you do when you appear to have achieved your goal of being able to do these things without the hassle you once experienced but your whole life is about how much every one hates you ?

You create a new problem that results in push back so you can still make that claim abiut how persecuted you are....

And kids will do it. Kids will get many of the most liberal woke people working against you.

No one hates drag Queens in the sense we wish harm on them. Everyone who didn't like them.just switched channels and didn't go see them perform.

But now the kids are affected. We cant stay quiet. And it starts all uver again.

It’s win-win-win for those wanting access to children. Enhanced victimhood status. Anyone who dares question this is condemned for bigotry. And parents queue up to have their children taught not to avoid strange men.

The beeb hasn’t exactly got a good track record of making sensible choices has it?

KindlyKanga · 05/03/2022 11:35

Hi thank you I will have a look later. I am more trying to understand why it is a thing as I don't really know if I'm for or against it. I'm new to exploring this part of mumsnet. I feel I am so out of touch as drag Queens are all over the media but I don't really "get them". I guess I need to understand their reasons for getting into drag.

@KittenKong "he beeb hasn’t exactly got a good track record of making sensible choices has it?"

If the BEEB has a covert agenda then for them this is in fact a sensible choice. Understanding "queer theory" is essential for understanding what their agenda is.

Queer theory believes among other things that all oppression is due to people dividing everything into binaries such as man/woman, gay/straight, adult/child etc. They believe that to get rid of all oppression boundaries need to be blurred which is what they call queering.

Susan Cox, a feminist and philosophy lecturer brilliantly explains Queer Theory in the following interview. It is a must see to get a clear understanding of it and why it undermines women and undermines child-safe-guarding.
