My last post contravened Mumsnet Talk rules, for which apologies.
I have sympathy for Steffi and their life story is interesting.

The YouTube Soft White Underbelly has some fascinating interviews with people who you don't normally hear from.

I'm not likely to click on any links without an explanation of what on earth the film is about, OP.

Why do you think should feminists be interested in a YouTube video about a cross dresser?

I found it interesting because Steffi does consider herself a trans woman and she does present in a very masculine way. Nothing reads 'woman" to me in the way Steffi presents and talks about her life.
Just checked the link it goes straight to the you tube video for me !!!

Any post that would discuss the success of whether a particular trans person ‘passes’ would be deleted for transphobia, I think.

But surely if a person doesn’t identify as trans then its not transphobic to say they don’t pass…or do pass…or whatever

Hi Steffi. I think I'm familiar with this story. I've heard it before.

It's a bit of a trope now.

To be perfectly frank, I'm quite sick of listening to what trans-identified males have to say. I'm just not interested:

There is rarely an original voice.

It's a bit like reading Beast Quest, all the same story with name changes and and they go on forever

I watched first few mins, i have no idea what the relevance is to feminism except that everything about what he said in those first few minutes was offensive to women

Well, I would trust your initial interpretation here rufus. I think it was similar to mine.

We are waiting, though, for OP to tell us more about their interpretation since they have brought the video to our attention. I assume there is a reason it has resonated with OP. I expect OP will go further now and discuss why.

So fed up with men saying they are "in touch with their female side" and dressing up like a hooker with a bad hair day. I could only watch 2 minutes.
