www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10520757/Biden-taps-non-binary-drag-queen-look-nuclear-waste.html

"Brinton has been unapologetic about LGBTQ+ rights, and has a history of promoting sexual fetishes and kinks related to animal role-playing. They gave a talk on 'kink exploration' at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2017. Brinton talked about their own experiences with 'pup play,' domination and how to safely choke one's partner.

They told of one experience how they like to tie up his partner like a table and eat dinner on him while they watch Star Trek. "

Yeah, the world is down the pan.
Is it even worth fighting anymore?
Of course it is, I just keep thinking I've peaked and then I read a story like this.

@Frenchfancy

I think your title is misleading TBH. Yes it is disturbing, but this is a UK site and this person is not part of the UK government.
Yeah, cos that's the thing to focus on in all this, obviously...
Echobelly · 17/02/2022 15:02

Well, seeing as they have Master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a professional interest in sorting nuclear waste problem, sounds like they're pretty well qualified for the job and good luck to them.

ScholesPanda · 17/02/2022 16:29

I'd probably be concerned if this individual took that involved safeguarding (like teaching), and I think that they should be held to the same professional standards (such as dress) as anyone else.
Other than that I don't care. I'm also really suspicious of efforts to get people sacked because of things they've said or done that don't effect their ability to do the job, I don't think the sacking by Twitter mob mentality is advancing society TBH.

You put what I wanted to say into better words than I could. I guess also at least it isn't a security risk in this case either since its all out there. (Although how ARE foreign intelligence agencies going to blackmail people these days when all the stuff that would be kompromat has already been the subject of university lectures/Ted talks?)
ScreamingMeMe · 17/02/2022 19:28

Who has said he should be sacked? Nobody on this thread.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/02/2022 11:31

There was a poster on a recent thread, who said she’d alerted management that a woman the company was intending to recruit used to be a cam girl. The job was not offered to her due to this behaviour not being in line with corporate image.

The questions as to whether a woman with equally star credentials would have been recruited to this position if they behaved and dressed in a similar way are very pertinent.

GreenWhiteViolet · 19/02/2022 12:01

I'm sure that there have always been people with odd fetishes, but the idea that it's somehow a good thing to let everyone know about them is disturbing. Your employer shouldn't know about your sexual interests. Nor should a newspaper. Keep it private.

And before the homophobic comparisons roll in, mentioning your same-sex partner at work is nothing at all like revealing that you like to tie people up and wear a dog mask or whatever else this is. Far too much information.

I'd consider him unsuitable for the job for that reason. No sense of appropriate boundaries.

Hasselhoffsheadband · 19/02/2022 12:07

Yes, stuff like this shows that men and women are still held to entirely different standards.

Also, why do we need to know all this stuff about this person? Who benefits from that?

Like yeah, given the appalling way gay people have been treated in the workplace in the past, it is great that people can be 'out' at work. But that means being able to refer to your husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend in the same way that anyone else would and, well, that's it really isn't it? It does not mean every sexual fetish and detail about your 'identity' has to be laid out for public consumption, people don't need to know about that.

Nomoreusernames1244 · 19/02/2022 13:02

Some men look fabulous in dresses, Brinton isn't one of them

Would you say that about a woman taking the same role?

What is with the nom-binary ''paedo mustaches''

Why does a mustache mean paedo?

Comments about appearance are unnecessary. Anyone can wear what they like- if they want to wear lipstick and a dress they can crack on.

What does worry me is the kink and sexuality. Increasingly the trans umbrella does seem to be aligning itself with some pretty nasty sexual fetishes.

If this person is qualified and does a good job who cares about the lipstick and a job. They need to be more professional and keep their sexual issues to themselves. And yes, choking is never ok and can never be done safely.

Datun · 19/02/2022 13:13

It is drag, or is it a cross dressing fetish?

If it's drag why would they be wearing it to work? Its a performance isn't it?

And if it's a cross dressing fetish, then yes, they are involving unconsenting people.

Can women wear fetish gear to work now? Or performance outfits?

Can we all show up at the office as clowns or in nurses outfits?

Questions, questions.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 19/02/2022 13:17

I didn't think we were limited to discussing just what is happening in the UK

Default assumption is OK.

I don't accept it's correct to conflate US and UK for reasons that have been covered extensively on other threads.

NecessaryScene · 29/11/2022 07:55

Update - he's been convicted for stealing a woman's luggage at an airport. He initially denied taking the wrong bag, but that proved a unsustainable, given that he hadn't actually checked a bag himself.

What a clown.

Correction - charged, not convicted.

elgreco · 29/11/2022 08:07

Probably after her nice knickers.

OmiOmy · 29/11/2022 08:11

Is anyone surprised? Anyone?

Datun · 29/11/2022 08:16

It's such a bizarre thing to do. Brinton has no way of knowing what's in the suitcase. The chances of finding anything to excite a drag loving, male furry are remote, to say the least.

Helleofabore · 29/11/2022 08:20

What do they say about a male with paraphilias and boundaries that dictate society’s norms?

NecessaryScene · 29/11/2022 08:26

On a positive note, it's nice to see police taking action on a theft, and actually tracking down the perpetrator. Although it wasn't exactly rocket science.

Brinton was apparently working on the assumption of nothing ever catching up with him, no matter how blatant.

After the suitcase's owner alerted police, officers reviewed video surveillance of the carousel and identified Brinton taking the luggage before removing its tag identifying the owner, the court filings stated. Law enforcement observed Brinton using the luggage during at least two other trips to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 18 and Oct. 9.

Snnowflake · 29/11/2022 08:26

All the comments are from the US .
The Daily Mail rules!!!!😉

NecessaryScene · 29/11/2022 08:27

Although it wasn't exactly rocket science.

Goddamit. Missed the opportunity for a more relevant nuclear physics type quip.

Helleofabore · 29/11/2022 08:31

So… relished the thought of being a ‘naughty’ NB person (not boy) by using the stolen luggage openly.

yes! Biden can sure pick ‘em!!

OmiOmy · 29/11/2022 08:33

I am so slow. This bring your whole self to work is to break down boundaries and normalise kink and fetishes.

Took me long enough for it to click.

FrancescaContini · 29/11/2022 08:36

I don’t want to click on the DM link but from the OP I can safely say - no pun whatsoever intended - that I would have serious concerns about any man anywhere who talks about choking his partner - regardless of how “safe” he considers his method to be, and irrespective of whether it occurs during sex or not. Particularly after seeing photos online last week of the bruising around a the jawline/neck of a woman whose partner had done this to her.

Safe choking - surely this is an oxymoron? FFS 🤬

Yeah, the furry scene is just not doing it for him anymore - it's so booooring. Same old, same old.

Helleofabore · 29/11/2022 08:39

I clicked. I wanted to see if the luggage was significant in some way.

No. It was just the thrill of getting away with it.
