Someone in the UK, a female therapist who is also skilled in helping people (women/girls) with social anxiety and absolutist thinking that exacerbates anxiety. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Here's one place to start looking - a couple of UK entries in their public directory, and maybe more if you get in touch?

genderexploratory.com

Sasha Ayad, a therepist who co-hosts the Gender - A Wider Lens podcast was involved in setting that up.

How about getting in touch with a few therapists and asking them directly? Checking out potential therapists is part of the process of finding one that fits, so include a question about their stance on sex/gender. You'll be able to tell much about them by the way they answer (ideally with clarity and without defensiveness).

Ok thanks for both those suggestions.

I am in the same situation. My concern when interviewing a potential therapist is that a TWAW therapist may be dishonest with me because they think they should 'save' my dc from the TERF.

I wouldn’t necessarily ask outright I think. It may well be a good therapist is not necessarily is au fait with the wider debate. More asking about their therapeutic approach in general.

There was an interesting article on the genderexploratory website. Wish I’d read that a few years ago.

Might be worth checking with one of the support groups. They must have some ideas.
