Dinosaurs spotted in Berlin

This cheered me greatly. [[https://twitter.com/jaw_2021/status/1493270174027427846?s=21]] I think it was a One Billion Rising event. The dinos certainly made their presence felt. I wonder what Berliners made of it. And I wonder who the dinos are since their placards are in English... Also love that one of them is carrying a shopping bag 😂

It's been commonplace - if not de rigeur - for decades to have some protest signs and related materials in English in countries where English is not a native or official language. Back in the '60s, '70s, and '80s it was done to impact the widest possible audience whenever there was any chance that international news would pick up the story and show pictures or footage. It's become even more common now that local people take pictures and post them on social media and there's a chance for them to go viral. Go online; you'll see for yourself.

No "Brits" - or people from any other Anglophone country - are required.

(I’d suggest Hasselhof’s 1989 antics, but available evidence suggests those were enjoyed rather than endured )

All the dinosaurs in the “Jurassic” series of films are female, apparently; & in the latest will come crashing onto the mainland. Within that fictional world, putting just a slight twist in the genetics (if you can successfully clone the dinos, manipulations not possible in our world are too) when you opt to do the obviously stupid & frankly unkind thing & & clone dinosaurs would give you LITERAL FEMINIST DINOSAURS. And what’s really, genuinely, sad, is that an awful lot of people would find them more frightening than the slaughtering-on-instinct strong-and-fast-and-terrible variety. There would definitely be accusations of the theft of dinosaurs from boys, too.

It’s handy the Museums being closed on Mondays* so the dinosaurs could go out to protest without disappointing any visitors. And very generous of the dinosaurs to give up their one day off, too. I’m fully hoping for some of the Pergamon Museum to show up in support next…

With exception the Jewish Museum, Checkpoint Charlie, BlackBox & a couple of the galleries, yes.

Not all the Jurassic Park Dinosaurs are female - it's a rather significant point in the films that they can change sex and some became male.
