Three article the Sunday Times Scotland today, none of then allows any comments, not even mdoerated:

SNP article:

Transgender rights: Samaritan denied foster role in row over puberty blockers:

And Viking hordes ‘may have been trans’:

"Sacha Coward, who specialises in gender and sexuality, said it would be “a mistake” to believe that Viking society subscribed to traditional gender roles, after recent discoveries suggested that some celebrated warriors were female."

But tradional gender roles are fundamental to trans ideology, if the Vikings didn't believe in them then these female warriors were just that, female warriors, not transmen. "Leading historian" my arse.

So Boudicca? Is it just a mistake that she is described as a women, wife/widow and warrior?

Or is she an even more there than we thought woman doing manly stuff in history?

Some mistake there, surely?!

SamphiretheStickerist · 13/02/2022 10:51

There = rare

Bloody autocucumber

ScreamingMeMe · 13/02/2022 10:53

Yes I'm surprised Boudicca hasn't been claimed yet. Maybe it's because she had long hair? 🤔

WarriorN · 13/02/2022 12:04

Dh never particularly discusses this with me as he knows I won't shut up and he cba with it.

I was swearing under my breath about the greens and showed him the screen shot of the abuse Alison Moyet received and he proclaimed:

"The thing is, from my perspective, these men who reckon they're women, it's the height of misogyny."

Given his main area of knowledge is construction, finances, cricket and football, I was impressed with the nail on head statement.

(He's been mightily pissed off with grappling with toilets within planning rules for a while mind you.)

I wonder why the comments on the all three articles have been turned off. The Times genderwoo articles are usually heavily commented

Gillian Bowditch's comment about abuse and bullying in schools also has comments turned off.

"Queering history", FFS .

HoyaSaxa · 13/02/2022 14:06

Just listened to The Rest is History podcast on the Vikings. Would highly recommend.

They had to put a trigger warning because of the descriptions of sexual violence towards women. It was horrific. Pretty sure the Vikings knew exactly what sex they wanted to sexually abuse.

My reaction, too

Maybe legal issues, perhaps a court case in the offing? otherwise moderators must be having a day off.

I would be very cautious about SNP, they will behave like Labour and try and hide intentions with a few well chosen words 'all women' 'considerations given to respect and dignity for all' springs to mind

Thelnebriati · 13/02/2022 14:30

Claiming all Viking warrior women were trans is like saying all women who join the military must have a man gender identity.

But this is the logical conclusion of gender, isnt it. It seems bonkers to us because we are not scared of reality, know where babies come from and laugh about being called Sir by mistake.

Remember that abuse ramps up as the victim stops giving two fucks and works out how to leave.

Yes but then how do they explain the men who were in the armed forces who then transitioned (and there have been some high-profile ones)? None of it makes any sense.
