A teacher tweeted Anthony Horowitz saying that her student bought her an Alex Rider book. Horowitz replied: Please pass on my good wishes and thanks to him/her.
How dare Horowitz make assumptions about the unnamed student's preferred gender identity? How dare he use binary sex-based pronouns to refer to someone he hasn't met? How dare such a well-known author commit the heinous crime of potentially misgendering a student and causing the student enormous emotional distress? He must be cancelled at once! 
I am loving Anthony Horowitz more and more with every passing day.
