(I know there are other EHRC threads, but couldn't see a thread on this specific question, sorry if I've missed it)
I'm worried that the EHRC will be forced to cave. Stonewall and other LGBT groups have united to lobby against it, and even to get the UN to censure it. Though the EHRC is supposedly independent, no human rights group can operate effectively without political buy-in. Stonewall's tactics are to make it too toxic for any mainstream politician to support it.
How do we push back and ensure that MPs and other people of influence understand the level of support that the EHRC enjoys, outside the shouty beardies of Twitter? There is some pushback on Twitter, but GC voices do not have the amplification that Stonewall does. Do we write to our MPs? That seems pointless for those who have drunk the Kool-Aid. I want to act, I just don't know what to do.
