Stonewall recommended!

My teen dd has recently been diagnosed with ADHD & ASD & referred to Healios a company that is used by the NHS to support the work of CAMHS. She has been struggling mostly with peers and difficulty with social interactions and boundaries, because of this she finds it difficult to fit in at school, she is easily influenced & has copied some peers behaviours in an attempt to get some attention over the last year. She also says she is Bisexual.
I have just read the report that the clinician sent following the initial assessment from talking with my dd & I'm quite upset to see that one of the suggestions of support for her was youngstonewall! Am I over-reacting or am I right to be alarmed and if so should I write to complain.

I'd make sure that the issues that are causing her most distress are supported.Peer relationships, boundaries etc.
Given her other issues I'm not sure that referring her to "unqualified in anything" Stonewall would be appropriate? If there are a range of suggestions, who's responsible for following up with referrals? Depending on her age, I'd be looking for qualified interventions from those trained in therapeutically working with young people to help her address her issues?

I'd guess the suggestion of youngstonewall was a well meant (but unfortunately nowadays possibly misguided) idea for support for her sexual orientation.

Yeah I'd write to Helios and basically update them that Stonewall are untrustworthy, and to please refrain from referencing them in future interactions with your daughter.

Does LGBA have any equivalent type of support for young LGB (or exploring their sexual orientation) people? If so they might be worth looking into as an alternative.

Do I remember correctly that there were egregious SW descriptions of bisexual as deplorably transphobic because it acknowledges a binary and retains sexual orientation as a description rather than gender? Hmm

There are the usual tropes about claiming that reducing bisexual to bi has been in place for years and 'sexual' always meant 'gender' because people have always meant gender presentation rather than sex.

Ultimately, bear in mind that Aimée Challenor (as was) was cultivated within Young Stonewall and a member of their Trans Advisory Group.
