Racist TRAs

Can anyone shed some light as to why vocal trans activists on Twitter are so racist?
I’ve seen another thread on Twitter today where reporting on the possible EHRC advice for males without a GRC to be excluded from female spaces. The immediate response as ‘are they going to ban black people too’
I genuinely can’t comprehend how people who in most cases consider themselves woke can’t see that saying black women are the same as males is incredibly offensive?

I had a Twitter row with a semi famous mtf person, and he said that trans-women are like lesbian-women and black - women

What the actual fuck. How can you call both lesbians and black women not real women. It is unbelievable. Does that then make only white straight women real women?? What an utterly bizarre statement.

Male white supremecy

Smileyaxolotl1 · 11/02/2022 23:55

Yes it’s true that many of them display homophobia too.

It's worth noting who some of the women are so viciously targeted by this movement: Allison Bailey, Raquel Rosario Sánchez, Keira Bell, Hido Wadere. Women of colour. Funny that.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 12/02/2022 01:01

The sexist stereotypes being acted out are very white stereotypes too. It's shameful.

Linguini · 12/02/2022 05:44

Yes I utterly despair for young lesbians who are told:
If you refuse people with a penis it's EXACTLY THE SAME as refusing any women who is black, or other ethnic minorities, or refusing all women who are foreign. It's a really abusive narrative.

The TRA movement seems to attract vicious homophobics who want to force lesbians to fuck men.

highame · 12/02/2022 09:51

I heard an interview with a transman from the US who had to stop himself quickly, from using a comparison of trans with Serena Williams, he quickly reverted to her strength. I was so shocked, it stunned me into silence.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 12/02/2022 10:08

Forced teaming is out of the Denton Playbook and remarkably effective.

Yup.

If anyone’s not read the playbook EmbarrassingHadrosaurus mentions, it is here & is worth reading, enraging as it is. It is mind-boggling that a group who produce a document that bangs on endlessly about people being “assigned a legal gender [at birth]” could not just be taken seriously by a government institution but managed to inveigle their way into umpteen of them - effectively TRA’s have worked as a combination of all the worst weeds combined, invading & overtaking what was once a beautiful garden. There are now more people aware that Those Flowers There are in fact not flowers at all & left unchecked the garden is going to suffer irreparable damage - but fixing it? As any gardener knows, weeding is exhausting & seems to take forever. Accidentally sharing the “here is how to deliberately manipulate people to get what we want” document wasn’t a great move by Team Weed though, really.*

Some of it is about TRAs IDing not simply as women but as women who are oppressed, marginalised & hold the least privilege. It’s not enough to be women, they need to manipulate things so that “cis” women are the powerful oppressors.

It all works on a model of American [socio-]cultural imperialism, too: it’s really quite embarrassing when people try to use segregation as a gotcha with reference to the UK. Lazily trotting out “no dogs no blacks no Irish” as a direct parallel of that is embarrassing with strands of Dunning-Kruger woven all through whatever’s been said 🤦🏻‍♀️

Co-opting the incredible suffering black people in America endured & trying to ride the tailcoats of the black civil rights movement is utterly reprehensible. Somehow, however, it goes unchallenged - presumably because of carefully constructed fiction that TWA[not just]W, they are they most vulnerable/fragile/marginalised (etc), so challenging the narrative would somehow be “punching down”

Women are just props, don’t forget - we’re not like The Real People (who we exist to validate & don’t you forget it & supply with self-worth, selfie tricks & style tips). Black women, in addition to that, occupy a particular space that tends to include dragging in nonsense arguments about black male athletes with VSDs - invariably referred to as “cis” - & claims that GC feminism is “white” feminism. It’s like a selection box of racism & racist tropes, really - despite all the #BLM in social media profiles & thoroughly performative displays of “anti-racism” & allyship.

  • For clarity - & in hopes of preventing any reports - this is merely a metaphor; “weeding” (etc) refers purely to removing TRAs & their policies from places where they have undue & improper influence (we’ve seen how popular redressing the balance at the EHRC is of course); & shoring up protection of women’s single SEX spaces. So Girlguiding will have to kiss that single gender nonsense goodbye, yes. Please don’t try to pretend [you believe] I am threatening to poison trans rights activists with weedkiller &/or to assault them with gardening tools; nor to incite others to said/similar/other horticultural hate crimes.
KittyLeMew · 13/02/2022 09:32

They are happy to glom onto BLM to further their aims but it’s completely disingenuous. There was a document leaked about this strategy.

Here is a thread about the horrific racist abuse FGM survivor and campaigner Jana Cornell receives from TRAs simply for using the word female within the context of FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION. It’s utterly horrifying.

panoramicgutterview.blogspot.com/2021/03/female-genital-mutilation-and-right.html?m=1

And a post Allison Bailey made twitter.com/BluskyeAllison/status/1480143656380252161

Absolutely disgusting.

ScreamingMeMe · 13/02/2022 09:46

Anti FGM campaigner Hibo Wardere was also attacked for not being 'inclusive' enough. Leading to the classic slogan "I am a woman, get over it."

How far up your own arse do you have to be to attack a somalian woman for not including your white, middle class ideals in her campaigning?

TheWeeDonkey · 13/02/2022 09:49

It's what peaked me a few years ago when I decided to "educate myself". As a mixed race woman hearing the same comments and slurs as I experienced in the playground decades earlier really made the scales fall from my eyes, and so resolute too! You know if I unknowingly say something which others find offensive I check myself, I certainly don't double down. It certainly was an education.

ScreamingMeMe · 13/02/2022 09:52

Did that TRA ever apologise for saying that a mixed race woman was wearing bad fake tan?

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 13/02/2022 09:57

If anyone’s not read the playbook EmbarrassingHadrosaurus mentions

Thanks for doing that, NitroNine

simply for using the word female within the context of FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION. It’s utterly horrifying.

Remember when the Greens wanted to remove the word as part of their constitution and actually used that as an example?

At the same Spring 18 conference Aimee #Challenor (with Molly Arthurs, NB, and Teresa Ravenshaw, trans) put forward motions to remove the word 'female' from Green Party constitution, turning mechanisms created to tackle sexism into trans promoting mechanisms
mobile.twitter.com/Justloo79304166/status/1036605561104728064

And at same Spring 18 conference the words 'women and girls' were removed from text about female genital mutilation and changed to 'a person maybe subject to FGM', to hide the fact that this is crime that happens to women and girls because of our SEX.

FiftyStoriesHigh · 13/02/2022 09:57

Am I right in assuming that trans-identity is far higher in the white population than anywhere else? Because I feel like that tells us a great deal about white male entitlement and the system that’s making room for them precisely because they are not women and they are not POC.

NitroNine · 13/02/2022 12:08

That’s ok EmbarrassingHadrosaurus - just struck me that (despite the thing being so heinous) it is useful for people to have read & to be able to reference. Some stuff can sound like mad conspiracy theories if you’re not familiar with what’s going on; so it was thoughtful of them to put it all in writing for us. A detailed confession to Machiavellian machinations without our even asking? So thoughtful. Like a beautiful bouquet of flowers “just because”[your abuser battered you senseless again last night, anyway*].

@FiftyStoriesHigh
We don’t know. We don’t even know how many people in the UK identify as trans. Simply because of the UK’s demographics one would expect there to be more white trans people; but unless/until proper research is allowed & funded, there’s no way to know if white men are more than the 42.7% of the trans population of the UK that would be in proportion* The trend that HAS been identified is the rocketing great switch from fairly stable numbers of boys IDing as girls to the reverse overwhelming NHS services completely - but adult transitioners still being overwhelmingly men who ID as women. Anecdata suggests that yes, [middle class] white boys & men are the overwhelming majority of those who transition into trans women in the UK. TRA pushback is that it is particularly unsafe for trans women of colour here on TERF Island, so they are basically all in hiding.

  • the absolute personification of male privilege, revelling in all the patriarchy has to offer ** am not accusing anyone involved in creating document (in v broadest sense, so yes, meaning members NGOs referenced) of DV &/or VAWG; nor trans people generally; nor making light of violence against any group of people * Taken from 2011 population figures, so would expect some change, but not enormous amounts. Could not, however, adjust for U18’s. Apologies for somewhat poor quality data, but picture given is sufficiently accurate to illustrate point.
FiftyStoriesHigh · 13/02/2022 13:04

@NitroNine Yes I find the F2M trend in teens and M2F trend in older men interesting and no doubt both born of the same systemic misogyny. Girls in ID flux suddenly in possession of a sexualised body - want to escape it. Men attempting to exploit the very depths of their entitlement - I am woman. I am you. It’s basically mansplaining literally personified.

Jeyesfluid · 13/02/2022 13:10

They have to other women so they can then add themselves as a subset of women. And they don't care who they offend because they're deeply unpleasant misogynists. One thing will always be obvious though. No matter how much they scream and shout. They will never ever be women.

Charley50 · 13/02/2022 17:19

They are so un self-aware of how deeply offensive they are. And just egotistical and all about themselves.
