They are doubling down on the unthink. How - how can anyone not see this for the flagrant misogyny it is?

Summary of arguments

  1. Believing men are stronger and faster implies you also believe women have inferior lady brains.
  1. It never happens/there’s no evidence. (I’ve never understood why the world records in every sport ever don’t count as evidence, but setting that aside, I assume this article was written before Lia Thomas hit the headlines.)
  1. Women don’t care about winning anyway, they should be happy with the consolation prize of just taking part.
  1. People with Y chromosomes and internal testes are women and excluding men from women’s sports is unfair to them (with bonus racism!)

To be fair to the author I do not believe it possible to come up with arguments to support their position that aren’t misogynistic and riddled with internal contradictions.

allmywhat · 04/02/2022 11:13

Oh yeah, also, some people on the side of the argument cited someone who belonged to an organisation that cited a Bad Man one time.

(If TRAs applied this logic to themselves they would all have to stop talking forever.)

Yes. That's why that side has so taken to the ' YOU ARE ALL HATERS!' line so strongly. When you don't actually have coherent arguments then all you have left is stigmatising, intimidation and name calling.

Well I think some of that is incredibly racist. It implies that Wambui, Semenya and Niyonsaba have high testosterone because they are black and therefore the testosterone ceiling is racist (noting the testosterone ceiling is way above natural levels of testosterone for women). Its irrelevant. They have high testosterone because they have a DSD and it's nothing to do with blackness or racism.
Honestly. The author even says black women have to demonstrate femininity to be accepted as women, and can't see why implying black women have abnormally high testosterone would be problematic.
