Anyone know what the latest is on this in the UK? I contributed to the consultation to say that encouraging children in therapy to explore the reasons why they might feel body dysphoria and wish to change sex is very far removed from attempting to convert someone's sexuality which is absolute abhorrent and unnecessary.

Stopping therapists from helping confused teenagers to explore their own feelings will potentially push more teens towards life changing surgery and drug use. This is not the same as telling them they shouldn't be trans or that being trans is wrong. But legislation like this puts therapists in a worrying place where they will be scared to do anything other than 100 per cent affirm the teenager's belief that they are trans.

It's a very worrying development. It does force an affirmation only approach. If you have symptoms which require medical investigation/ treatment its usually a qualified medical professional who makes the diagnosis and prescribes treatment, not the patient. Therapy should be part of that investigative process. How can we justify funding trans healthcare without a diagnosis to justify it? Doesn't that just mean we are supporting cosmetic surgery, with lifelong consequences, on minors?

Being gay, lesbian or bi does not require medical intervention.
