They are looking at the advantage a TG 'woman' has over her female competitors due to the early years of muscle and body development when they were male.

I have no issue with the TG thing, except when it compromises women's safety and their spaces and the obvious advantages it gives sports TG 'women' over natural women... I refuse to use the word cis.

As a parent of two DDs who swim competitively words fail me that this is happening. It will continue to decimate womens sport unless a separate category is created.

It's a good decision on the surface of it:

A three-person medical panel will now determine whether "prior physical development of the athlete as a male" gives transgender swimmers an unfair advantage, USA Swimming says.

There will also be testosterone tests for 36 months before competitions.

It comes as a transgender Pennsylvania university athlete has been smashing female swimming records.

The new policy was released on Tuesday and is effective immediately.

So long as the "three person panel" is made up of actual sports scientists and not politically motivated activists.

Well yes obviously this was going to happen. There's a lot of money and prestige in sport. You only have to look as far as the various doping scandals to see the lengths people will go to to win. Transwomen athletes are an obvious target.
